The Historic Heater House at 120 Dry Ave, Cary, NC
The Heater House, named for the original owners of the space, was built in 1918. The rich past of the home is ingrained it its very structure, and the current owner have aimed to preserve as much of its colorful history as possible. As avid supporters of NC State, the Heaters often played host to university gatherings and events in the early 20th century, which presented the need for structural stabilization using steel beams. In later years, the building temporarily served as student housing. From handwritten notes scrawled inside closets by previous residents, to stories about the famous guests that have visited the building, the Heater House is alive with historic significance.
Since the 1980's the house has been inhabited by several owners, for which the building served as a private residence. In the mid 2000's, the property was purchased and restored to what it is today: an executive suites office building for entrepreneurs and small businesses known as the Historic Heater House.
