Dr. Dallas Alvey has the distinct honor of being both a licensed medical doctor and dentist. He grew up in the land of oil and football in Midland/Odessa, TX attending both Midland High and Permian High Schools. Later, he graduated summa cum laude (with highest honor) from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor’s of Science in biology.
Dr. Alvey completed his medical education at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, which is home to five Nobel laureates and at the vanguard of medical research worldwide. As a medical student, Dr. Alvey researched a variety of subjects to advance the field of plastic and aesthetic surgery: heat shock protein activation following laser treatment to the skin; platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) effects on fibroblasts and tissue healing; Restylane dermal filler clinical studies; differential arterial dominance of the hand studies for use in determining skin graft harvest sites; and others.
Following graduation from medical school, Dr. Alvey headed to Roanoke, VA for a general surgery residency. At Carilion Clinic/Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (now Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine) he worked at the level one trauma center, intensive care unit (ICU), as well as in the operating room to care for those undergoing emergency and general surgeries.
Though he was competent and respected by his superiors and beloved by the nursing staff, Dr. Alvey couldn’t ignore the unique opportunity dentistry presented. So, following his first year of residency he moved back to Texas to attend dental school at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. There he excelled and graduated among the top five. He was also inducted as a member into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Honor Dental Society, a distinguished award given to those who excel in the practice of dentistry and ethics.
Dr. Alvey has also worked as Chief of Education at the highly popular online medical review company Doctors In Training. There he oversaw content generation and art direction. He has also practiced laser liposuction under local anesthesia as well as worked as Chief Medical Officer and physician at Inclusive Clinics, PLLC.
