Parking: We went around 8:30pm on a Saturday. Parking is in front of Starbucks and the walk is less than a minute. Experience: First off this place is a hidden gem! We felt comfortable from the moment we walked in. The food selection is great. The place is kept up sp nice and clean. And the service was amazing. This was our first time here and definitely not our last. Definitely a date night spot. The music is also a plus it’s a mix of old school and new school r&b. I give them a 10/10 keep up the great work.
Y’all! This food was so good! We stumbled on this spot while doing a historical tour on a Saturday afternoon. Good music, waiter was super nice, strong drinks and good food portions! I like my ribs falling off the bone but the taste made up for it and they were pretty tender. Also seems to have great vegan options.Recommended dishesPotato Salad, Mac and Cheese Collard Greens and BBQ Ribs, BBQ
My wife and I were searching everywhere for BBQ & came across this place. It was absolutely phenomenal!! The staff was so nice & helpful, super nice with my children, & loved to chat with us. We tried so much on the menu and was not disappointed with a single thing. The pork roll was beyond my expectations, the pulled pork & wings were so good & the rib tips were excellent! Only one thing was the tips were a tad fatty which isn’t a big deal but did not ruin my experience at all. The baked beans were super delicious! I highly recommend this place to everyone! Parking is a little iffy but don’t be afraid to get your steps in if you need to walk haha Vegetarian options: I used to be vegetarian, but not anymore. Speaking as a previous veggie, there are plenty of options for you as well!
The smokehouse has a liquor license, great smoked meats and now, it has its service up to speed for lunch time patrons. Friendly bartender will engage in conversation if your interested. I will go back!Food: 5/5
I expected better. The collard greens were “meh” and the candied yams were average. The smoked salmon was the best part of my meal and it wasn’t anything to get excited over.Food: 3/5
The lady who took my order was very rude. And when I arrived nobody could locate my order. They asked me my name, and after about 10 minutes of standing in a tiny area they asked me what my order was which was 3 items that were already finished. Also wanted to add there is absolutely no parking that is easy to find if you’re not from the area. And since I was in front of a fire hydrant, waiting for an order that was placed 35-40 minutes in advance is very disappointing. The food was very disappointing, if you like your yams like mashed potatoes go here. They aren’t too bad tho. the greens were definitely missing flavor I had to add lot of hot sauce maybe bc I’m used to meat in mine but I’ve had meatless greens that were better. I paid $17 and I wish I would’ve taken my money somewhere els since that area is packed with good restaurants with nice people. I give 3 stars bc the wings were good I got the honey saricha sauce. Was lacking stickiness the sauce didn’t hold onto the wings very well. I like the general tso sauce but they never add enough. So I wanted to try something new. All in all I would rather take my money somewhere els since these people don’t seem to respect you nor your money.
Went there for takeout the brisket sandwich and waited about 15 minutes after ordering...just like the bartender said. The brisket, which I look at and taste before I put any sauce on, was over cooked and chewy. It didn't taste bad, mind you, but overall, it didn't have much flavor at all and took too long to chew. But thank God for their sauce! Really smoky flavor that brought the tired brisket back to life and made this a worthwhile trip. I'll come back and eat in just to sauce up their cooked too long at too high a temp brisket. Also the bar looked really cool and I'd love to be able to hang out in there but I was working, so some other time perhaps. The bar staff was friendly and helpful to everyone, even if they weren't his customers. Attentive, friendly and busy is the mark of good service. I only took pictures of the bar because of what I thought was a "weed slurpee" as it's called Liquid Mary Jane. 4 patrons piped up and shouted they were buzzed from it, but the bartender swears there's no weed in it.
Highly recommend their barbecue ribs and chicken but their grilled chicken and brisket sandwich/burger were highly disappointing. They don’t give straws and you have to buy them! It’s one of those places that I’d definitely revisit for ribs if I’m in the area.
One word DRY! It's a shame because I've been coming here since they first opened but I can say the quality is not the same at all. I don't know if they have a new chef or what but the macaroni and cheese was dry and inedible the yams were burnt and the ribs were chewy. I called to complain about the inedible sides and I could hear a female in the background probably the chef upset with my complaints. I returned to the store with the sides and did receive my refund the next day that's why I gave the 2 stars. At least they rectified it.
Great food and even better vibes. Really enjoy each visit to the Smokehouse. They have very good chicken and wings, well seasoned salmon, and many tasty sauces. Their sides stand out even more. Excellent collards, moist delicious cornbread, and real mac and cheese. I personally would pass on the brisket, but my husband thinks of it as a juicy roast beef. Vegetarian options: Tons of vegetarian and vegan options. The collards and cauliflower pizza are standouts there are many other offerings like vegan wings and a black bean burger. The mac and cheese is very cheesy and excellent if you do dairy.
