The Hill location owned by Two Keys & next door to the tavern is the worst. Bartenders and staff are rude beyond belief. Every time they rent out the private “VIP” area that has limited perks, one of the women’s bathrooms is blocked off and closed. Men still have two bathroom options, but if a woman is to walk up to the specific bathroom I am talking about, security just shakes their head at you. They will say no words to you, but shake their head and give you a dirty look. Drinks are overpriced and service is poor… at best. Going in the middle of the week when they have no business is the best.
Awful experience especially for a Friday night. Male Bartender was more worried about getting some then the rest of the bar. Not only did it take forever to get a drink but The same bartender and his staff were also extremely racist and I witnessed a woman get jumped by a group and punched in the face and the same bartender instigated the fight more. Calling her awful names and emotionally yelling at her. Lucky a police report was filed. Not a fun place to go. If your visiting Lexington stay clear of this bar!!!
Great place to have a drink before UK games. Favorite place for college kids!!
Fun place, not the cleanest. Young College crowd for sure. Cheap drinks in plastic cups. Live band was good. Dance floor has different levels so not the safest. My card was charged twice took 5 days to figure it out. So pay in cash... I should have known because everyone paid in cash. I called two days in a row multiple times and no one answered. When I finely came back to discuss the two charges the girl behind the bar literally stared at me for 30 seconds before she opened her mouth to tell me theirs nothing they could do.... I did have beard hair in one of my drinks. But at end of the day/night it was fun but wasn’t worth the frustration.
Is a very nice bar. They were part of a Pub Crawl. We paid 80$s for 2 tickets but this bar and most of the others barely participated. There were not photo props, and basically it was just free cover and supposed drink specials. The butterbeer was awful. It was truly a let down.
Two Keys is trash. They might have a good thirsty Thursday but if you're a minority don't count on getting in all the time. I'm from out of town and my friends are from Lexington. After Bryson Tiller gave this place a shout out I thought this was a good place to have a good time..they have the most ridiculous dress code. I came to visit all the way from Chicago and they wouldn't let me in because I had on a polo button shirt and Jeans with some additional stitching. I honestly want to sue them because they denied my entrance and let someone else with a very similar outfit on. I didn't come from out of town for that. They could at least put a sign up with what they don't expect in the dress code. They don't deserve business. My last time going there and I will be speaking with a manager.
Absolute shame. Drinks that are 90% mixer. They do not treat customers well with the respect I would expect out of a business that would try and be even merely reputable. Bartenders that are extremely rude and will not own up to making a poor drink. Manager that will not treat you with any sort of respect. You will get thrown out if you try and get your drink replaced with something that actually should meet the minimum standards of an average beverage.
Decent Pizza,, service is lacking. I stopped by on the way home, to grab a slice of pizza because I had a large salad at home for later, but wanted something before I could get home. I went in, and ask for one of the slices they had out, to be heated. had a nice little chat with a young woman who was at the counter, and she put the slice in the oven. She did not ask for the slice was for their, or to go. A few minutes later, a guy came back from the kitchen with my slice of pizza in a box. I hate wasting resources and things that go in the garbage, so I asked if the pizza had touched the Box, because I wanted to eat it there. The guy said, "well it's just a box." , Removed the slice from the box and left the pizza on the counter. he was about to return to the kitchen when I reminded him that I had not paid. He rang me up at the register. Did not ask if I wanted a beer or anything else. I was going to get one, but decided not to give them the business. This story took longer than my entire visit there, but both of the other locations seem to be consistently better than this one.
Hire an actual DJ, exclusively playing early/mid 2000s rap is a no go. Having a variety of music is important for a good bar environment, especially for college students. I have been here several times and it's always the same exact music. At the very least try playing recent music, or even EDM to get the people going a couple nights a week.
Trashy. Dirty. Ripped off on one beer with deception by the bartender/manager. I was told 4 dollars and happily gave him a $5 bill with the intent of leaving a dollar tip. Unfortunately for him, I saw that it rang up as $2.50 on the register. Drank my beer and left after giving a hefty $1.50 tip on a $2.50 beer. First time I have gone there and it will be the last time. This happened last April, I finally got around to posting about this incident. Just save your time and avoid this place.
