Description

It all began with roommates sharing closets in house number 229 on a quiet street in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. As their paths diverged and led them apart from one another the spirit and love of vintage clothes remained. Boutique 229 was created in the honor of those fond memories from years ago.

Boutique 229 opened in May of 2015 selling women's vintage clothing and accessories. As business took off there soon became a request from the men. In April of 2016 the menswear section opened.

The boutique has a vast selection of vintage dating from as early as the 1930's.

Great pieces and styling through the store in addition to kind and friendly staff. Could not recommend more!

I want to make a shout out to a wonderful employee at this store. I am a type one diabetic, and during my visit I realized I was having a low blood sugar warning and had to sit down. I informed the cashier, and she offered to let me sit with her and even offered me some gummies. She sat and talked with me until I felt better. Thanks again Maggie!  The store is really cool, lots of options for different body types and styles. There is a menswear section and a home goods section that are worth checking out as well.

Our favorite clothing store in Gettysburg! Vintage clothing that is perfectly curated and they will help you find shoes & accessories to match!! Did I mention it’s reasonably priced too? Don’t miss this place on your visit! For women and men- they also have some adorable retro home goods and jewelry. The only things I would critique would be - non- itemized receipts you just receive a total and the dressing room curtains were difficult to get closed all the way gaps at the sides. Not deal breakers, but hope to be helpful! Edited to add: They did offer to email me an itemized receipt later, so it’s available, I just didn’t want the staff to have to spend time working on that for me. Thanks for your reply! Can’t wait to return!

What a Cool Shop. I was looking for a large metal hairbarrett  to hold all my hair  , by chance I went into this incredible  shop with clothes, luggage and accessories . Found this stainless steel old butter knife barrette. It was exactly what I was looking for. Also they have spoon barrettes and bracelets.  I will be a repeat customer. Customer March 2022. . Just an amazing vintage shop! Really fab selection of clothing from all eras. Great accessories and jewelry as well. Staff is the sweetest, too! I'll definitely be back!

A well curated collection, reasonably priced, in a fun, welcoming setting. You know you've struck gold in a vintage shop when everyone trying stuff on is complementing each other's selections in the fitting rooms. We left with some treasures and hope to be back again!

Always a pleasure to visit them! Small sanitizing station at the front of the store, wide selection of products, clothes in good quality, employees are super nice!

Out of all the stores in Gettysburg, this is by far my favorite. Always great new clothing when I go! Great shop.
