23rd Dental Company provides comprehensive dental care to active duty personnel assigned to Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center and Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command.
The 23rd Dental Company exists to provide comprehensive dental care to active duty personnel assigned to Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center and Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command. The healthcare support is provided at Branch Dental Clinic Twentynine Palms by active duty and civilian dental personnel sourced from 1st Dental Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton. The services provided include urgent and routine dental care in oral diagnosis, periodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics and general dentistry, as well as, 24/7 emergency coverage in Building 1591.
Primarily a support and report organization, 23rd DENCO serves approximately 11,000 active duty personnel from 18 operational units under the direction of BGEN George W. Smith, USMC, Commanding General, MCAGCC/MAGTFTC. The Company Commander is CAPT Richard Campbell, DC, USN, and the Senior Enlisted Leader is HMCS (FMF/SW/AW) K. Desmond Edwards. They are responsible for the administration and management of the assigned dental personnel to 23rd DENCO, as well as, the coordination of clinical services for Branch Dental Clinic Barstow and Branch Dental Clinic Bridgeport.
23rd DENCO personnel are charged to carry out their duties and responsibilities to the best of their abilities, in accordance with operational and administrative instructions, within the limits of their clinical privileges and/or position descriptions. Proactive leadership, communication, and safety is the norm. Outstanding performance through effective healthcare support and optimum results through efficient dental service is expected.
