36th Street is an express station on the BMT Fourth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway, located at 36th Street and Fourth Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. It is served by the D, N and R trains at all times, as well as several W trains during rush hours.HistoryThis station opened on June 22, 1915 as part of the initial portion of the BMT Fourth Avenue Line to 59th Street.Station layout36th Street is an express station with four tracks and two island platforms. The changes included rebuilt staircases, retiled walls, new tiling on the floors, upgrading the station's lights, installing ADA yellow safety treads along the platform edge, new track-beds for local and express trains and also installing some artwork around the entrance.
