4O.DAYS.OF.NONVIOLENCE Is A Faith-Based and Community-Driven Initiative, whose purpose is to deter and ultimately eliminate violence in our communities through education, awareness and job creation.
4O.DAYS.OF.NONVIOLENCE's Purpose Is To Provide 4O.DAYS of violence-free activities; to re-engage relationships with local churches, community leaders, and citizens; to provide valuable information that will enhance knowledge of available resources and opportunities; and to encourage the community to sustain the momentum after the initial 4O.DAYS have passed.
4O.DAYS.OF.NONVIOLENCE Is Partnering With Local Churches, Law Enforcement Agencies, Corporate Sponsors, Non-Profit Organizations, Fraternities & Sororities, Community Action Groups, Online Social Media Partners, and Print Media Distributors (newspapers, local tabloids, church bulletins, etc.).
4O.DAYS.OF.NONVIOLENCE Will Sponsor, Through Its Various Partnering Organizations, Educational Workshops with a target audience of between 15 to 25-year-olds, while emphasizing life-building efforts (College Preparation, Ongoing Education and College Fairs, Scholarship Awareness, Civil and Military Service Options, and Behavioral Improvement Camps).
4O.DAYS.OF.NONVIOLENCE Will Also Focus On Professional Development, with workshops on Resume Writing, Employment Interview Preparation, Skills Development, and Career Assessments; with the goal of making participants aware of available resources and tools that will enhance their job search or aid in advancing them at their current job.
4O.DAYS.OF.NONVIOLENCE Is Operating Under The Auspices Of THE EDWARD G. IRVIN FOUNDATION, a 501 (c) (3) corporation.
