About

At 4D Vision Gym, we offer Behavioral Optometry and Vision Therapy (VT) services. We participate with Anthem, UHC, Oxford, Medicare, and Connecticare.

Description

At 4D Vision Gym, we distinguish ourselves from the standard optometry practice by providing both comprehensive vision evaluations and highly effective, individualized Vision Therapy to children and adults with visual challenges. Our approach combines both an understanding of the visual-sensory needs of individuals with developmental issues, as well as the desire to help patients overcome the visual barriers impacting their ability to learn, read, comprehend, work, play, and even pay attention by strengthening the pathways between the eyes and the brain.

We accept Anthem, Aetna and United Healthcare health insurances.

4D is a vision training center where our members have fun while participating in their own Vision Therapy program to correct their visual issues.

Optometric Vision Therapy is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment option for double vision, lazy eye, crossed eyes, convergence insufficiency, accommodative insufficiency, eyestrain, and much more. Learn more at: www.4DVisionGym.com.

We show you how vision is much more than 20/20!

The staff at 4D take "vision off the charts" by showing you how vision is much more than 20/20. Vision is a learned skill that impacts many areas of life -- school, work, sports, and play.

As a Behavioral Optometrist, Dr. Collier will ask questions about your vision problems at school, work and home and explore how Vision Therapy or corrective lenses may help improve your comfort and performance, while preventing future vision issues.

4D removes visual barriers to learning and makes it possible for children and adults to excel in areas where they previously struggled, thereby improving the quality of their lives.

We are a team of highly educated, motivated, caring professionals who are passionate about how vision therapy can improve the lives of our patients. We provide each patient with an individualized program that will meet his or her specific needs and assist persons of all ages with every step of the visual correction process.

Dedicated to providing excellence in Vision Therapy, 4D Vision Gym is ready to serve you and your child.

4D Vision Gym saved my life! After struggling with repercussions of a car accident for over a year and being misdiagnosed and dismissed by dozens of doctors, I finally stumbled upon 4D Vision Gym. I had never heard of vision therapy, but I was out of ideas and had nothing to lose! Prior to getting properly diagnosed during my initial visit, I had been dealing with debilitating dizziness, headaches, and sensory overload issues. I could not live my life, and I didn’t know what was wrong with me. After my diagnosis, everything started to make sense. All of the “weird” things that had been happening to me FINALLY had explanations. After 8 months of eye training, my symptoms had improved greatly. Not only was I able to perform most of my daily tasks again, but I had the tools to maintain my progress post-treatment! Dr. Collier, Jess, Lori, Kelsey, and everyone at 4D Vision Gym made my 8 months of therapy enjoyable and…dare I say, fun! I walked into 4D Vision Gym with no answers and no hope that I’d ever get back to “normal”. I walked out with so many answers and so much proof that “normal” was definitely achievable. THANK YOU!!!
After attending 4D Vision Gym for over a year, my family ceased using their services. Despite this, they continued to fraudulently charge our HCSA for over seven months. The woman in the billing department was impossible to reach. We left many messages and they all went unreturned until yesterday. She falsely claimed that she had been trying to reach us, but after picking up every phone call for months and enduring all the phone scammers I would rather have avoided, I can be certain that this was a lie. This was the first time that I had received any phone calls from 4D's phone number and the cellular number is similarly absent from my call records. The billing representative then told me that she would not refund the money she had wrongly charged us because there were still outstanding payments due from our insurance company. She said that she would email me the list. She never did. She did, however, ask me to call my insurance company in order to deal with the billing issues. Funny, I thought that was her job. I then called my insurance company and they confirmed that everything had been paid and that nothing should have been charged to our HCSA. Then they told us that the billing department at 4D never returns their calls either! This seems to be a pattern of behavior. Further, they told me that there were absolutely no outstanding bills. So why 2 stars instead of 1? Because the rest of the staff do their jobs well enough. They are polite and professional. The woman in the billing department, however, is an absolute lemon and, on her own, would induce me to recommend any other business over this one. It shouldn't be necessary for me to do her job for her. It shouldn't be necessary for me to call the appointments extention just to talk to a human being about billing. It shouldn't be necessary for me to call the insurance company on her behalf. At this point, we have been in touch with the BBB and I'm inclined to write a letter to the Attorney General's office if this situation isn't resolved promptly.
Do not trust these people! Dr. Collier’s initial “assessment” of my child was fraudulently documented to fit her more than 10 diagnoses for him. For example, he would affirm to being able to see the object peripherally, however, she would indicate “He can’t really see that.” That was the one and only time he was “assessed” by Dr. Collier, however we were billed multiple times for further “exams and assessments”. My credit card was charged for all office visits, “exams, assessments”, materials, and monthly fees, AND these claims were submitted to the insurance company 6 months later! Submitting these claims to the insurance company so late and after I had already reached my $4000 deductible with other health providers, resulted in none of these payments being counted towards my deductible! So, she received DOUBLE payments by charging my credit card AND receiving insurance compensation. I communicated with them in depth & at length for approximately six months about this and it was never rectified. In response to 4D Vision’s reply: Deductibles are not confusing, the fact that your office charged my credit card for all services and then 6 months later submitted it to my insurance company to be paid again is confusing. Additionally, see the email response below from your billing department: “Hi Jessica, Just wanted to send you a quick update, Anthem has reprocessed one of the dates of service paying for the visit in full 5/19/2021. I sent in the remainder of the visits that they are saying should not be deductible and I hope to get those in soon as well so we can resolve this and get you a reimbursement check! Talk to you soon, Kelsey“ I have yet to see that reimbursement check!!!
In my experience, at the Cromwell location of 4D vision gym, I have gained back an outstanding level of my vision after a head injury caused several ocular injuries; nearly every area of vision damage has been treated. I have had three evaluations with Dr. Collier and she can speak quickly but she listens and has the mind of a proper medical professional; thorough, direct, kind and honest. Anyone that suffers with vision issues, from injury or from birth, needing a specialized and unique program should consider that it should not be cheap and that it will take time and determination. Yes, it is pricey but if you want to get high quality care that is catered to your specific needs, or your child's, it makes sense, don't you think? I won't lie, it took quite some time due to the level of visual complications caused by my head injury but it was beyond worth it to stick with 4D Vision to be able to drive comfortably and tolerate the lights in my apartment as well as light therapy. Its wild how our vision is connected to our hearing. It wasn't until my vision program was in full effect that I was able to start listening to music other than frequency at extremely low levels. I have only had a wonderful experience with the 4D Vision team. The staff is warm, welcoming, understanding, kind, patent, fun and they love the color purple which is a known fact to be a very strong quality in people that are determined to help others.
After suffering a concussion and having a lot of issues with eye coordination, focusing, depth perception, etc. I was referred to 4D Vision. I can't say enough good things about them! After my initial contact I had a thorough, lengthy evaluation by Dr. Collier, who was able to determine what my deficits were. She and her staff then developed a personalized plan so, over time, I could get my eyes working correctly again. From there I started my Vision Therapy sessions think PT or OT but for your eyes. At each session I was encouraged, challenged and supported through the different eye exercises that were given to me who knew there were so many ways your eyes worked!?. I was also given homework to do, which helped my progress. As I made improvements, my goals changed and new exercises were added. Also, periodic check-ups with Dr. Collier verified that I was improving and moving in the right direction. At this point, I only have a couple more sessions left after going twice a week for a year. Undeniably, it has been well, well worth the time, effort and commitment. I can't stress enough how important it is for our eyes to work correctly so if you are having ANY concerns about your eyes, call 4D and schedule an evaluation now! You will not regret it! I also cannot say enough about my coaches, Jess and Lori, who were so great to work with. Thank you both so, so much for your knowledge, encouragement and commitment!
Both of my kids received vision therapy at 4D Vision Gym and it has made a world of difference in their vision. One was never able to have his vision corrected to 20/20 and after vision therapy his vision is better than 20/20. He also had no measurable depth perception when we started and after vision therapy that fully improved and he noticed a remarkable difference being able to see the changes in terrain while skiing. Dr. Collier's eye exam is much more thorough than a traditional eye exam and she's able to measure so many different things and provides specific quantifiable measurements to show the growth in vision. Prior to seeing Dr. Collier, I didn't think my kids would ever be able to see 20/20 and I didn't think there was anything we could do about it. I'm so thankful we found Dr. Collier and her team and would highly recommend 4D Vision Gym to anyone.
Our 7 year old daughter was struggling to read and 4D vision tested her and we realized she basically had double vision. After just 4 months she was retested and made such improvements she will only need 6 more weeks of therapy verse another 7 months! She is starting to read and making such progress and we couldn’t. S more happy!!! Everyone is so nice and she loves going!
4D Vision has been such a great experience for our family. The staff is top notch and keeps my son excited to come back, even after a long day at school! We have seen so much improvement in a short amount of time and for the first time, our son willingly picks up a book and reads front to back. We highly recommend the gym to anyone with vision concerns.
I fell and hit the back of my head in December of 2020. Have been going to vision therapy since December of 2021 and it had helped me get some balance back on my feet. I was struggling with vertigo and depth perception which made it hard to walk. Jess at 4D has helped me in the last 5 months, 2 times a week. I still have a little ways to go but have been making progress. Give them a shot I don’t think you will be disappointed.
I was having a lot of trouble driving on the highway which caused me to find alternate routes to different places. It affected my daily life a lot. But after only 3 months with vision therapy I can drive on the highway again! The staff is amazing and so welcoming. I tell everyone about this place!
