Annual July 4 parade and picnic in St. Paul's St. Anthony Park neighborhood—the capital city's only Independence Day parade.
The colorful and eclectic parade winds along Como Avenue to historic Langford Park at 11 a.m., followed by speeches, food, music, pony rides, races, tournaments, picnics and prize drawings in the park from noon to 6 p.m. The Fourth in the Park begins with annual 2-mile and 4-mile runs at 8:30 a.m., starting from the Langford Park Recreation Center. The celebration is put on by the Fourth in the Park Committee and sponsored by the St. Anthony Park Community Foundation and the St. Paul Department of Parks and Recreation, with generous contributions from local businesses, friends and neighbors.
