HAPPINESS IS MEASURED IN KNOTS. 36KNOTS. Our story began in 1980. Today we craft handmade beanies for boardriders. But it's just the beginning.
December of 1980. The first ever voyage across the Atlantic to Rio de Janeiro. A young sailor gets a woollen beanie from his girlfriend, and beanies are a must-have out in the sea – especially when you suddenly find yourself in freezing cold water. It was a hand-knitted beanie with colours so intense not even fog could dim them. And so it began...
The beanie has been travelling all around the world since 1980, reaching as many as six continents. When the father gave it to his son, it found its new place – this time among windsurfers, kitesurfers and other adrenaline-thirsty people. And so should it go on..
For the past 30 years, the indestructible beanie has been 'breathing' the endorphins and adrenaline. It was gone with the wind, it was soaking wet and it was frozen to the last woollen fibre. It was the pillow, it was the towel, it was the bandage and it was the SOS. And even today, it is up to its task, no matter what the weather or climate: in the summer and in the winter. Where there is wind or water, there is also the beanie.
Knowing well the story of our woollen friend, we have decided to create the 36KNOTS Worldproof Beanie™. Full of colour and warmth, the handmade beanies are ready to take up any wind trying to blow them off your heads.
