FREE PICK-UP
Catch the Gautrain to Rosebank, then go to our Rosebank Backpacker, On arrival they will call us and we will pick you up from there. (See TRANSPORT)

DISCOUNTS
We specialize in accommodating Large Groups of up to 100 or more people, from Churches, Healing school, Schools, sports teams, conferences; all Group bookings get a great discounted rate. Discounts are available to daily and longer stay travellers; this is anyone who stays for a week or more. We offer all Musicians and artists a discounted rate to participate in playing Acoustic Piano, Guitar or any other acoustic instrument or to do a sing along by the Braai (BBQ) area.
Kids 3 or under stay free if sharing your bed. Kids under 12 get a discount.

IN HOUSE
From late afternoon you can meet fellow travellers. Chill out in our enormous sparkling pool or catch a tan and a drink in our multi Layered garden, or cool off at the Lapa at the top of the garden, whilst viewing Sandton City on the horizon while having a Braai (a Braai is an outdoor fire for BarBeQuinG 'the African way').
Relax, unwind and read a book from our large swop out Library selection, or just Lounge around watching DSTV (Satellite TV) showing the latest movies and all major sporting events.

WALKING DISTANCE OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD
Across the road and 100metres up is a Quick shop for all your basic shopping needs or you can walk 1km up the road to the Randburg Central Business district (CBD).
Randburg is a great centre for a True third world African Experience. It is unlike our standard shopping complexes that are all basically the same around the world. Randburg CBD is a Cobble stoned Boulevard, which runs for about 5 blocks, it has banks, shops, discount stalls, KFC and a few super stores for buying of groceries etc..,
It is characterized by cheap beer and food. This is where the local’s eat, trade and make merry.
Randburg is one of the student neighbourhoods in Johannesburg, hosting both Local and National students from all over Africa.
What makes this little town a special experience is that it is located in a middle class Suburb, where you get to really experience Joburg life, without the danger of being in Joburg CBD. It has many Churches, Spiritual learning places and Colleges around it. Like Christ Embassy the Healing School, CTI, Boston college etc…

ROOMS, DORMITORIES & CAMPING
Our rooms are basic simple and clean and come with their own Bedding, consisting of clean sheets, pillows and a duvets or Comforter. Winter chills - just inform the info desk for support in heating you up.
Our En-Suite Rooms and Rooms with a shared bathroom, consist of a Shower, sink & Toilet. A shared bathroom is where the bathroom is shared with others and is outside of the room.
The Dormitories have Bunk beds and hold 4-6 or 8 people. The bathrooms for our Dormitories are like those of a Gym. Leading off from the terraced kitchen, there are separate showers for Boys and Girls that are made up of 4 shower cubicles each; our toilets are situated next to the showers. The rooms are separated into different housing areas with the main house hosting some rooms, the Entertainment area, Common rooms and Kitchen.

INTERNET, WI FI & PUBLIC PHONE
FREE-eish Internet We offer 20MB per guest per day using our WiFi or one of our in house computers for the nominal fee of R2 to cover agents cost, more bandwidth is offered at an extra charge.

You can cater for yourself in our communal kitchen.

Or just order in from a large choice of restaurant’s and takeaways close by.

MEALS
Non-discounted bookings include a basic snack at breakfast time that is made up of Bread with condiments and Tea or coffee. Once a week where possible we have a Bring and Braai, were you can musicians can play a bit of acoustic music.


PICK UP POINT
We are a chosen pick up point for the Baz Bus, Kruger Safaris and all major Overland Tours to Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia and into the rest of Africa, we can secure cheap rental cars, and the cars can be dropped off or picked up from the Hostel.

TRANSPORT
For a FREE PICK-UP you catch the Guatrain Train to Rosebank from OR Tambo International Airport or from Rotunda. Joburg’s National Bus Station. You walk 900meters to Rosebank Backpacker or catch the Bus Rapid Transport system towards Hyde Park, on Route RB4 get off at stop number 4. We will send a driver to Pick-you up there.
Accoustix is also on the GAUTRAIN Linked Bus route that’s linked to the Sandton City Station. This is the Cheapest Option for 1 or 2 people to get to Accoustix and Joburg, for more than 2 people it is best to use our Shuttle service.

AROUND TOWN AND SURROUNDING SUBURBS
Through our close proximity to all means of transport, or by using our own 24 hour shuttle services, one has access to theatres, sport stadiums, major shopping centres, authentic African restaurants, historical museums; you are only a short drive from everything you need to see.

SITUATED ON 2 MAJOR INTERSECTIONS
If you are hiring a Vehicle at the airport or arriving with your own transport, it is easy to get to the Backpacker as Jan Smuts Avenue is a main artery that runs North from Johannesburg Centre past Rosebank through Randburg over the main highway past 4 ways(Monte Casino) all the way to Hartebeesport Dam. On the way you pass by the Zoo and Zoo Lake, the place where Rosebanks hosts it’s famous Sunday Market and the Upper Class Hyde Park Shopping Complex.

East of us takes you to Sandton City, you can use the Gautrain Bus System to get there.
2 km’s west of us is the Bright Water Commons, this is an outdoor based centre that has a Flea market, small Craft Market and tons of entertainment and shopping, great for kids, or if it’s a shopping centre you are looking for, Cresta is up the road running South towards Melville, or you could just go to East on ??????????

DIRECTIONS
We are situated between Hyde Park and Randburg CBD.
After Gordan Rd where the timber city is you turn into the slip road From the Bus Station / Train station

Get on to Wolmarans outside the Bus Station and head west. Take a right at De Beer and then a Left at De Korte (This will be the 2nd road you can turn left). Next road take a right and this will change to Jan Smuts Ave. Stay on Jan Smuts for +/- 10Km
From Central Johannesburg you travel North on Jan Smuts Ave.

From the airport :
When leaving the airport, take the R24 and head towards Johannesburg, this will change to the N12.
Take the N3 North (Sign will say Pretoria). Follow N3 for +/- 10Km and then follow the signs that say the N1 to Bloemfontein. Take the William Nicole off-ramp. Turn left once off the freeway and stay on William Nicole for +/- 4Km. Turn right at Republic road. Left at Jan Smuts Avenue. Accoustix Backpackers on your right hand side

YOUR SUPPORT

On and after arrival please keep the front of office informed for support in helping us make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

As we are a Backpacker it is Important to help us in keeping the shared Bathrooms, Communal Kitchens and Common Areas clean as they are used 24 hours a day, we clean them morning, afternoon and early evening daily, if on arrival or during reasonable working hours you find these areas to be messy please speak to us.
Dorms are a shared space. Please be considerate of others space. If a room is near a common area and there is excessive noise beyond reasonable hours speak to us to help find a solution.
All Dorm rooms and common areas are not exclusive to any group, this can only be achieved if it has been previously expressed and agreed to and the necessary arrangements made by management,


We do not sell alcohol, customers are welcome to buy their own and have an afternoon drink by the Pool or in the Lounge or Patio area.
