I've been to a few zip lining places and this place is ok, meets the task adequately. It is a long drive from Johannesburg so be prepared for that. It's out in the middle of no where without amenities near by, should take specific snacks of things that you need. The zip lining it's self was ok, although not spectacular. The wind made it hard to achieve high speeds. However, the scenery is good, I imagine the hike around the gorge is worth the drive out. The folks are friendly here and there is a nice platform to hand out on and some freshly made food. I personally would not visit this again but perhaps other folks would.
We went on the Quad Safari. At R850 per person for a 2 hour 25km drive we expected a slightly better experience. The guide wasn't much of a talker nor did he bother to give anyone a quick overview of how the quads worked. I had the only manual gearbox which worked out great as I've driven bikes before. But several of the other riders got stuck with automatics that couldn't even idle. So they had to restart the engine every few hundreds of meters. The guide's own quad smoked so bad that no-one wanted to ride directly behind him. Something they didn't mention on the website is to bring goggles or sunglasses. The drive would've been impossible without eye cover. Talking about safety: if you have a bike helmet, I suggest you bring it as the toy hard hats they offer would be useless in a fall. We didn't see much game but the experience of being on a dirt road on a quad with a manual gearbox made it worthwhile in the end for me.
We went on a 8km hike it felt a lot like rock climbing with amazing sites and views

Loved the landscaping at Muningi Gorge. You do have to book before going though. We just went and almost didn't get any activities so bookings are definitely essential.
absolutely incredible! from the booking process to the actual activities it was amazing beyond words! they even went out of their way to arrange a beautiful picnic on the cliff for our first wedding anniversary! we did the abseiling as well as the archery and it was incredible! will definitely be back to do more of the activities on offer!!! thank you so much for making our first anniversary so special!!!
Friendly people, not too crowded. Beautiful scenery. A lot of activities.We did the 4.5 km hike. The views are worth the climbing. We aren't fit at all and we made it to the top albeit with a lot of resting.
Apparently, it was Eleanor Roosevelt who said: “Do one thing every day that scares you.” So... if you should feel like doing the “scary thing,” why not try the zip-line “scary thing” at the Muningi Gorge, outside Cullinan? Speaking from experience, I rate this exhilarating adventure right up there with bungee jumping and skydiving. Plus the fact that you get to see the incredibly lovely gorge, while zipping across it like an arrow. The trainers/guides at the facility, Ndu and Lifa, are true professionals. They combine wit and humour with a no-nonsense approach. Great guys – both of them. The harnesses and equipment seem to be in good working order – but the protective gloves are waaay beyond their use-by date. All in all, it is money well spent. You should try it.
We celebrated my girlfriend’s 25th with the Extreme Zip-lining and Hike at Adventure Zone and had such an awesome time. Destination is remote, peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful. Staff are funny, entertaining and knowledgeable. The zip-lining was truly incredible. Views are epic. So worth it. You’ve got to take a drive to Cullinan to experience this. And what’s better still is that these guys are on The Entertainer – so we’ll definitely be coming back as this makes it so affordable. Thanks for an unforgettable experience. Perfect does of adrenaline for a birthday gift!
My wife and I went to Adventure Zone to celebrate her birthday by abseiling. What an exciting experience. We were met by a bunch of truly professional young guys. Lawrence was our man who assisted us in preparation of our adventure. Abseiling is a potentially very frightening and daunting experience but he made it easy especially for my wife. She was initially frightened but once safe on the ground she declared that she will be back. Thank you for that Lawrence. I enjoyed to the entire interaction with the people of Adventure Zone, from booking the event to physically doing. Well done you guys at Adventure Zone
