African Curios In Cape Town - Gift House Curios

This used to be one of my favourite shops to buy from and to recomnend to visitors. Service was great & the stock was always plentiful with something for everyone. Location and trading hours were also ideal. It's been a while since I have used their services. A simple, polite call to them this morning asking if it was still under the same ownership because sometimes things change under new ownership turned into the most unpleasant conversation. Apparently it is a big secret with the person who took my call being adamant that as a customer I have no right to ask or know the answer. Clearly customer service skills are lacking too. Truly mindboggling! And so I guess the time has come to take my business small as it may be elsewhere...

Wow what a place to view Bangkok. Worth every penny. Awesome place for pics, chilling and awesome views. On the way down you get off on the 4th floor which is the start of King Power Duty Free. Very much worth a walk through if really want or are looking for that something special. Well Done King Power for the great staff and super service you have. Thank you

Gift House Curios is a shop in Sea Point, Cape Town. Inside is a staggering array of 'curios' that only the strangest of persons would want to display in their home.

The true worth of a business is demonstrated in how problems are handled. Mark and colleagues get an A++++++ We were in cape town and saw a beautiful hand carved table. We never purchased anything of that magnitude and were concerned on getting it home to the states. We got a good price on table and mark G took care of getting shipping quotes and insurance, paperwork etc. Unfortunately when it arrived part of table broke during shipping. Mark and folks at BOHPshipping company were extremely responsive and great communicators. Mark went out of his way to find an outstanding artisan in New York who came to our home and fixed it in such a way that one can not tell it was ever broken. All costs were covered. In a world where a lot of businesses simply don't care, it is wonderful to do business with someone who takes great pride in what they sell and customer experience... even thousands of miles away. I have never written a business review before, however feel compelled to praise such great service 7800 miles away!

Always great service

They accept foreign exchange. Can change Dollars, Pounds and Euros here for Rands without all the formalities of exchange controlpassports etc. Good selection of African curios, but a little pricey.

They have a wide variety of African curios from the very cheap to the very expensive. I was not very impressed. Feels a bit dingy and dark. Definitely needs a facelift.
