If you on a budget and need good and clean accommodation this is your place to stay in Phalaborwa. Staff professional and friendly. Security at night is a plus as we travel with equipment. The private outside area and braai at each room is nice to relax at night. If you want a luxury place you must be willing to pay much more but I'm happy to use them again.
Great 2-night stay. People part of my group arrived earlier and checked in and I arrived much later at around 8-9 at night. Was greated by a friendly security gentleman Unfortunately did not get his name who was welcoming, friendly, had a great smile and was willing to assist me with luggage. Also met Inock in the morning, and also a pure gentleman, alwasy greeted us with a smile, asked if we were happy with everything. The place is also way more than expected and had a lovely stay but what also puts this place in its own league is the security gentleman and Inock who really made it much better. Would recommend this place and these 2 gentlemen anyday. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.
Most friendly and helpful personnel, from the security at the gate, to the gentleman at the office, who took us to our room personally. Stay was fantastic - beautiful and clean!! Will recommend them to anybody! Well done!Rooms: 4/5
“african lily lodge: a beautiful lily indeed” Me and my partner have stayed at African Lily Lodge twice this year, and the first thing that stands out for me is how easy the booking process is. There are no hassles, you just get there, view the rooms on offer and pay then viola, you’re home. Checking in. Before checking in, the correct procedures are followed in terms of preventing the spread of Covid-19. A friendly and polite staff member will take your temperature and assist you in filling a short questionnaire detailing your place of origin. Staff As i have mentioned, the staff are very friendly. on our first stay, it was during winter and we could not afford the higher premium rooms and had to settle for a more affordable room. It was a cold night, so we asked one of the staff members there to provide us with an extra blanket or two, and he did so with a smile - okay, maybe i’m exaggerating, but he was nice. The cleaning lady will simply knock on your door and ask if you need your room to be cleaned. Amenities The rooms are quite clean and neatly kept. Besides the regular bells and whistles of any overnight stay, they have digital satellite television and mini bar fridge - Limpopo is a hot place during the summer, that fridge will come in handy when you need to keep your water and other beverages cold. Quietness and cleanness The outside area is kept pristine. And the garden ornaments and art pieces make one to feel like they’re in their own yard - as opposed to being clinical. The area is also quiet with no outside noise to bother you. Accessibility One of the most important things about overnight stay accommodation is accessibility. African Lily is in the town of Phalaborwa, this makes very easy to access by public transport. And I have learned that if you can access any place by public transport then it provides you with more than one option of getting there. There is also a petrol station right across the street should one need any convenience shopping, and an ATM as well. Extension of stay During our first stay at African Lily, the plan was to book for one night. Come the next morning we’d decided otherwise. To book for an extra night all we had to do was to pay for the extra day we wanted to spend and that was it. In conclusion, African Lily Lodge is all about comfortable stay and convenience. Their lower end priced rooms are worth every penny if your staying on a budget. The higher end is just as up to standard as well.
If you want a place to sleep at an affordable price, this will do. It has everything you need, do not expect 5 star accommodation. If you just want a roof over your head for the night without breaking the bank, this is perfect. This is a decent budget class, which can be difficult to find. Saturday nights can be noisy as it is close to the CBD. Visit the Amarula factory to get the story on how it all started. It's A few km outside of town. The factory is only in production mode for 3 months a year, but can still be visited to see how it's works. Important the final product is not made at the factory. They do serve light meals and you can buy your bottle of Amarulla there as well, so it's a nice place to visit, even if it's just for your next bottle of Amarulla. P.S. The region gets extremely hot during summer. Winter temperatures is still hot mid-late 20s to early 30s.
Second time our team stayed and all happy this time we stayed 7 days for work and cannot find fault they do care about their guest and assist in every possible way.Rooms: 5/5
