Came back twice for the harvest table for self-service, pay-per-weight quiche and veggies. Food quality is consistently high and fairly-priced. Service is kind but a little chaotic at times. I do recommend this restaurant.
It has a traditional cafe feel and it is beautiful. Food is made from scratch and for every meal you can taste the authentic food making. The place gets full sometimes and the wait for the food was really not the greatest as food can take some time to come out but the service was incredible. And the harvest table is lovely. The prices are friendly too :
A friend recommended Service Station. The breakfast wasnt too shabby.Cant say the same for the service of our first waiter. He was abruot and rude.Changed waiters and the experience was totally different. The deli and bakery on the premise offers a variety of goods. There is also a small book store on site. Will try teir lunch next time. Parking: There is a parking area which has a car guard on site.Tip..please pay the guy when you park there
Everything was good but for the first 10 minutes. There is no one greeting you or showing you a table. We had to chase for a waiter to get a menu, and we were never offered drinks until we had to ask. I think they wanted to have more space for customers so they have miniature tables where people can barely fit and waiters don’t really care about it we were given a basket of bread to practically put on our laps. The coffee was very good and the food fresh and relatively fairly priced. I had a breakfast sandwich for about R95. I think it has potential, very easy fixes.
These days it's tough to find simple normal savory French toast with a little maple syrup and I finally found it on their menu and I was really happy. I love bacon so I feel like I should have asked for a little extra. I enjoyed this simple meal a lot . To drink we had kombucha, these came in cans so my advise is for you to ask the waiter to open it for you just incase an explosion happens my friend had their vegan friendly chickpea curry and it tasted really good, I may order that next time. We were here on a Monday morning so it wasn't packed at all. The atmosphere is great and it's an awesome spot for catching up with a friend or doing some remote working.
Yum!!! Had to travel over 10,000 miles to one of the best breakfasts ever! And the cappuccino was also fantastic; dark deep brown extract with fruity undernotes and so balanced. Delicious!!
Really really fantastic. The vibe is always right. The food always delicious. The book shop has great books, there's a beautiful clothing store attached, too. All round one of my favourite spots. HOWEVER, there is a "working area" that is meant to be the place for people to come and work with their laptops. I tried it... and it doesn't work for me. The WiFi is really unreliable, firstly. But more importantly, this "work area" is literally in the same room as the kitchen, which means you're trying to work with the ambient clatterings and bangs of a fully operational restaurant kitchen. It's super load and distracting - even with my noise canceling headphones. So I do not recommend Service Station as a work cafe. Just for dining.
My 4-star review focuses primarily on the coffee aspect. I really enjoyed the decaf cortado that I had. Although it is not primarily a coffee shop, the coffee is as good as I've had around. I was not aware of the roast. Situated on the corner of the street, it is a nice walk in restaurant/café that has plenty of seating space. Within the restaurant/café is a clothing store and small bakery. The service is very good. The vibe is pleasant and friendly. There is a selection of food written on a chalk board that, upon observation, seems fresh and delicious. Service station to service your food and beverage needs, in a trendy, well positioned location in Melville. As a combined venue, I would give it 5-stars. For coffee shop exclusively, a great 4-stars.
Was not a great experience. We understood that due to loadshedding, cuppacino and Americano was not available. But we wanted Apple juice and ginger and Kabucha from the menu, nothing available. Ordered the Mexican wrap, ingredients as per the menu was not added, we had to ask. Asked for scramble egg to the added to the wrap, it was put on the side. Very underwhelming
Service station in Melville has quite the reputation for being a great breakfast joint! I love me some breakfast!!! Unfortunately, because the restaurant was hyped up so much I found myself slightly disappointed by the overall experience. The waiters were inattentive, the wait for the food was longer than necessary I believe, and the food wasn’t life changing. In terms of a vibe or a hub, it certainly has that down, but I’m just here for the food honey! It’s worth checking out if you are in the area.
