Maite "Baraton" Mathakgane was born in a small village in Limpopo called Broadhill. But grew up in Tembisa, Gauteng. Growing up I participated in a lot of activities at school and in the hood too.
From being a soccer player, to a dancer, visual artist, actor, school choir member, Theatre group member, poet, comedian and etc. I became multi talented.
2014 Fez Trombone Mtati and I started a musical duo band called The Boys over Beats and performed all over Gauteng since then till today. Due to distance between Fez and I, I began shaping my solo side of music and became part of formation of a new Record Label called New Religion Entertainment.
Baraton's first successful studio track was HollyHood by El-Easy ft HeshTag too. The track was recorded on one day and the same weekend and the video was shot, at End of that month The video was launched at a very successful event (30 June 2017 @Celcius Cafe).
After that event, NRE was formed and the music kept going, the second feature was Mo'Tell's "No PHOTOSHOP" ft El-Easy too. Then I released my first solo Single "Clean Guy" , which is on my first solo Project called "Musical Fever Part 1: Welcome To Street Soul EP" . Street Soul is a genre created by The Boys over Beats which consists of Accapella music, Afro Soul and Rap.
So far musically besides my NRE CREW, I have worked/perfomed with the likes of Smurf-Illes, Tebogo Sax-Junkie, Anthony Oseyemi, Itai Hakim (8 Bars Short), Ade Omotade (The Fridge), Tino DaBeat,(NoLimitsEnt)., Sillo, SliimWiiz, Smart Cue and many more
I am also part of the NRE's Marketing Team. Co-Founder of an NGO aiming at promoting creative and ambitious individuals for free called VMMM-Vusa Mtswala Marketing Movement.

I MC for events and also do stand up comedy, I've MCd plenty of events since High school. The likes of Jays On My Feet, Lean Fest, HollyHood Music Video Launch, Fund A Mental EP Launch, The Social Entertainment Gathering,...Several Hip-Hop Sessions, School Farewells, Talent Shows, Graduation Parties and A lot of 21st Parties. My Jokes, dance moves and multilingual ness always does the trick��.

I started taking comedy serious in 2013, performed at school, weddings and parties. 2015 I got the chance to share the stage with Shampoo (Video Available on My YouTube Channel) , became a resident comic at Ghandi Square's Khona Da Café every Thursday at Lonie &Friends Comedy & Poetry Thursday Nights. I recently shared the same Mic with Emilio Tobias (How We Got These Suits) and many other dope comics at Maboneng Shakers Comedy Night.

My plan is to release over 10 Musical Projects before I'm 27, and travel the world with my talents. I look up to Samthing Soweto, Dizzy Wright, Blaklez, Bobby McFerrin, Jarrel Mathebula (Indigenous Dance Academy) and Cassper Nyovest. Their hustle, talents and hard work complements mine.
