I can't comment on the rooms, because we didn't stay there. We enjoyed a fabulous afternoon with tourists and locals alike. Great service, brilliantly cold drinks and friendly informative conversations. A highly recommended, definite stopping point for anyone traveling through and a perfectly positioned stay over point for Route 62
We actually came for Diesel & Creme but they were closing so we went next door, and I’m not disappointed at all. The place feels so comfortable and homey, the lady was so helpful and made us something to eat even though their kitchen was closed. The staff was super friendly as well, thank you again!
We ate a lovely meal with my mom on Sunday. The food is affordable and very tasty. The "Nagmaal Wyn" sweet and warming. What I love most .. the welcome laughter of Jeanine the owner. Without her spirit it would be just a pub, Love you dearly Jeanine and may your laughter never subside

Great space, very friendly Cold beers Rooms: 5/5
Room was clean, staff friendly however our room might as well have been in the middle of the pub. We had been travelling for over 12 hours and needed a place to rest. The pub bathroom was right outside our window where people were having loud conversations. Very disappointed, could not sleep. More emphasis placed on Resturaunt than rooms
Just such an amazing experience. Janine and Manus are the best hosts ever. Food and ambiance is awesome. Well done to the waiters and waitresses too. Top class.

What an awesome experience! The room where I stayed in was spacious, tidy and I now understand why this establishment is considered a luxury backpackers. They also serve a brilliant breakfast man size, scrumptious toasties and let's just say the ribs I had for dinner were out of this world. At the Dung Beetle they treat you like family. This is a must-stop on the R62!
My experience here was just okay. I didn't like how I could hear everything the people in the room above me was doing. When they moved, I heard it. It was an irritation. The manager was friendly and tried to make our stay great, but I would find another guest house or a bed and breakfast in this beautiful town.
