Great vibes, they are managing the tight walk rope of following COVID regulations while still being fully hedonistic. The place has lots of side rooms and little nooks so it can feel as intimate or as party as you want.
Hi hope the owners are reading our feedback. A nice place to be myself as a gay man, music not bad. My only issue is the amount of cigarette odour that clouds my breathing as the evening progresses- despite the no smoking signs on the dance floor people still get away with it. If this gets sorted an easy 5 stars from me. Thanks Crew Bar <3
I had an amazing time at this bar. Yes, it was hot, but the incredibly attractive straight bartenders wear tight, short briefs and we all know the effects of cold on a man's package. I say, 'turn up the heat!' Concerning the str8 bartenders, remember that this African nation is strongly hetero-normative and some need to protect their identities and reputations of their families. Lighten up. Drinks always were the same price I had only beer except for the body shot from Alex E. Yes, thank god, there is still a smoking section at a gay club. The place needs a deep cleaning, a few bugs ran across the bar thus my desire to drink bottled beer. I had no issues or problems with the doorman, welcoming in general and helpful in finding me a taxi. The crowd is a mixture of internationals and locals mingling happily. A couple of solicitations for money from sex workers but they handled rejections without attitude. Drop the gay attitude and enjoy this environ.
Indoor smoking is permitted and since they've permanently closed the sliding doors to the outside area, you're stuck inside in a dungeon of smoke. Best watch out, I got short-changed on my last visit. The bathrooms become very crowded and they're seriously disgusting. They'll charge you cover even if the place is relatively empty inside and it won't include a free drink.
Because my girls are always performing and the bar tenders are hot as hell!
Venue is way more spacious than before and the decor was great! However, the place was emptier than I would have expected. I'm no regular so perhaps I want on an off night! Not a bad place to go for a night out though!
The music in crew bar has never been the best but the ample space and scantily clad bartenders made up for it. Now both of those characteristics are gone. The establishment itself LOOKS quite nice but the atmosphere is very stifled. It's the first club I have ever been to where people on the dance floor are stock still, and those that are on the peripherals are on their iPhones or look like the're waiting for something to happen that never ever will. Despite the lack of gogo boys which was Crew's main attraction, and a smaller dance floor more aptly called a stand floor, the drinks remain overpriced, the entrance fee remains is still the same grimace inducing 50 rand. The lounge, the lighting and use of space makes it seem like a haughty imitation of Yours Truly, but slightly LGBTQ themed achieved entirely by reputation because one wouldn't say so when walked in, and also just worse than Yours Truly because actually speak to each other at Yours Truly. I'm giving it a star solely because after innumerable complaints, the owners have finally FINALLY installed adequate aeration. Well done on that part. We have learned from that mistake. Now how are we going to fix this new mess?
When a business had more 1* ratings than 5* ratings you must know that things can't be good. I realise yet again why I only go to this place once a year on the insistence of a foreign friend visiting. Literally had to wait 20min at the bar to get drinks. Somehow the 3 bar men standing there can't work their way from one side to the other to assume that customers waiting don't get overlooked. They definitely add water to their Whiskey and probably other spirits as well. The Jagermeister we bought at the downstairs bar was literally 50% water. So it's safer to drink beer or other drinks that are sealed and I tampered with. Highly overpriced as well and the same drinks all night kept changing prices. Total ripoff! Music is ok and the majority of the place is kept smoke free. Can't wait for this new Pink Panther club to open up this week! Can't say that I'll miss Crew at all!
Usually free before 10 but charged me because it was Gay Pride. Charging me to go in on a day that celebrates being gay, only to make a quick buck... A new low for this trash-heap. Drinks are overpriced 60 bucks for a vodka lemonade , its crowded, some of the straight barman are pretty rude/homophobic.
Just ok... Drinks seem to be cheap, but 90% of your glass is ice, so you can order 20 spirits and still feel sober. Barmen are nice and hot, they say they are straight... Not really sure about that.
