THE DREAM: Not too long ago Alisa Mock was reminded of her business partner – Tristan Hawkin’s – prophecy ‘Our salon in the near future….’. Today Beautiful Chaos bears testimony to friendship, perserverance, dreams and drive.
THE PLAYERS: Alisa emigrated from Germany to SA in her early teens settling in Fish Hoek and there completing her schooling. She studied at the College of Cape Town for 3 years doing her apprenticeship at Reto Style Lounge under the watchful eye of maestro Reto himself. She qualified and worked alongside Reto for 8 years.
Tristan started her apprenticeship in London, moving to Cape Town and studying at The Carlton Academy for 3 years, completing her remaining 2-year apprenticeship under the guidance of Reto, and with Alisa. After qualifying she moved to Perth, Australia where she had her son. On her return to SA she worked at a salon in Sunnydale, and the dreams of Alisa and Tristan to one day have a studio of their own took hold.
THINGS HAPPEN: In December 2014 Alisa saw a salon for sale. The ‘Beautiful’ started to happen. Alisa and Tristan purchased their studio – set in a beautiful cobbled walkway off Kalk Bay’s Main Road. Wheels were set in motion, hard work ensued putting their personal touch to their new space – culminating in the opening of Beautiful Chaos in April with their opening party taking place in May 2015.
THE STUDIO: Their choice product – Wella, SP & Sebastian Professional– is used throughout and adorns the shelves. The ambience: high ceilings, beautiful wooden flooring, great music, excellent coffee and a burning log fire add to the warmth and charm of their beautiful studio.
