Dr Lynsey is a hero! My cat was suffering from anemia likely induced by parasites. Things weren't looking good for him and we were sure our time with Genghis was coming to an end. But thanks to Dr Lynsey's constant care and correct diagnosis he has now made a full recovery. We are forever grateful for the compassion shown and professional service from start to end. I live a bit further away now, but will gladly keep making the trip out in future. Thanks again to the whole team - you guys are amazing <3
Blue Hills Vet has now been my deceased Grandparents Barry & Mary May's preferred vet for more than 25 years! In fact my grandmother worked for Blue Hills Vet for many years up until her retirement! The Staff at Blue Hills are exceptionally outstanding! They have treated my own dogs over many years and I wouldnt even consider taking my animals to any other vet, no matter how far Id have to travel! I trust & respect the vets at Blue Hills with my Beloved Four Paws & A Soul!
We have been used Blue Hills vet for the past 10 years but when I took my sick Staffie there today I was asked to by the receptionist to simply take a seat. After about a 12-minute wait another patient came in and was immediately attended to by Lynn. I then asked the receptionists what was going on and was advised that the other patient had an appointment, and I didn't. I then suggested to the reception staff that they should communicate with the clients advising them that without an appointment they would have to wait, which is understandable, but at least they should give some indication of how long the wait would be. This is simple customer etiquette in my humble opinion! Next thing is that Tim Hepplestone stormed and told me that he did not appreciate me being rude to his staff. When I tried to explain what happened and that I was not rude, he immediately asked me if I go to my doctor without an appointment to which I replied in an emergency yes! Tim then took one glance at my dog and proceeded to tell me that there was nothing wrong and that it was not an emergency. He then told me to take my business elsewhere which I did. I can strongly recommend that any client does not use Blue Hills Vet and to rather try Lyttleton Veterinary Hospital which is where I ended up going. It is about 5 kms further from where I live but this is a small price to pay so that I never have to deal with Blue Hills Veterinary Hospital again. Trust me, the two experiences are worlds apart!
What a horrible experience, Lynn lacks empathy, people and veterinary skills and should not be engaging with people with sick pets. She seemed to make decisions based on financial gain vs what was best for my dog. She spoke to me in such a condescending & rude manner during a time when I was at my most vulnerable, telling me that all other vets in the practice were gossiping about me, honestly! And later reffered to that as a difficult conversation? She was always busy, during my consult she repeatedly said I must hurry becuase she has other things to do, this while I was making a decision to euthanize my dog which she told me I 'cannot' do, so she could make 11k from 1 day of hospitalization and while my poor dog struggled with pancreatitis which she did not even pick up. Fortunately I made the best decision to take my dog to Fourways where Dr Tara diagnosed my pet correctly and spoke with patience and kindness during what is one of the most saddest time in my life. Lynn is a despicable human, I hope she gets a taste of her own nastiness, Dr Lynn Heplestone is not to be confused with Dr Lindsay from the same practice who was actually a decent person and vet.
Last night I called the small animal emergencies cellphone number from the Blue Hills Veterinary Hospital website. My dog was presenting with hives, but did not appear to be distressed her breathing was fine. I was reluctant to take her in to a 24 hour vet and pay the surcharge as I had just taken my other dog in to a 24 hour vet and paid a surcharge during the week. All other 24 hour vets I called refused to give me advice over the phone event though they had seen my dog as recently as January, and said that I must come in for a consult. When I called Blue Hills emergency number at 21:30, I was frustrated. The lady who answered the phone was polite, friendly and caring. It was so refreshing to talk to a veterinary hospital employee that did not just demand a consult. She was very helpful. I would definitely recommend calling the small animal emergencies number for advice. If I lived closer to Midrand, I would readily support this vet!
What an amazing Veterinary practice, a warm welcome from the moment you step in the door. Kind, compassionate and genuine people who go above and beyond to look after our furry family and us in times of worry over our beloved pets. The time taken by the staff, all staff, to greet you and give feedback is just amazing. The Doctors are so good in staying in touch when our pets have been hospitalised, we are so appreciative for the communication. Thank You to All the Blue Hills Team, our appreciation Louise, Rob and Nick
My puppy got her first vaccinations there and I received great service from Dr Lynsey. She was extra thorough in giving me all the need to know details as a first time pet owner. A month or so later, I had an emergency and encountered Dr Lynn. Instead of telling me whether I should seek help closer to where I was as my pet got ill while on holiday or if I could drive back to Joburg as I was not sure how severe my pets condition was and I was afraid she would be hospitalised in the town I was visiting and I would need to go back to Joburg and back to work. Dr Lynn spoke to me in the most condescending manner and ridiculed me before giving me the advice. This happened in 2020 and write this review over a year later because I'm still shocked at how degrading the experience was.
Been taking our English Mastiff here since we moved to SA from the states five years ago! Can’t recommend them enough. Dr. Lynsey has been our vet but all the vets are great! Very knowledgeable and compassionate. He doesn’t have much longer left and we are so lucky that we have Dr. Lynsey to help us through what will be a difficult time.
AWESOME SERVICE AND STAFF We had the best experience EVER at this veterinary clinic. The staff, from the receptionist to the doctors were so polite and understanding. They really care about animals and gave us the best service ever. I want to thank you for everything you did for us and our fur baby, also for restoring our faith in people. I would definitely recommend this veterinary hospital to others!! Thank you, see you soon
First time at Blue Hills Vet Hospital with my newly adopted puppy. Loved the fact that the reception area was peaceful and quiet. Could've been because it was early, but nonetheless, it creates a stress free environment which is the one thing you tend not to find at a vet : The general layout of everything just works very well!! Dr Lynsey attended to our puppy and loved her soft, calm approach. The appointment didnt feel rushed and she patiently answered all my questions.
