Went to a supper club dinner at the pub and it was delicious. Excellently cooked food and a lovely wine paring. The communal dining was a lot of fun. Recommend!
Tucked away on Cross Street – The Brown Dog is a real gem. You are welcomed by the smiling team ready to serve traditional and craft beers, plus a selection of good wine either in the cosy, snug bar in winter or in the garden in summer. Whether you have come to the pub for a drink, a snack of food – you are always welcome. The food is superb quality, especially for a pub / bistro with a wide-range of meat, fish and veggie dishes for starters and mains. And don’t forget the pizzas – they are freshly made in front of your eyes and even the garlic pizza for starters are very moorish! FYI – at weekends and holidays you will probably need to book a table. A little piece of heaven in West London.
For many years, this has been a favourite local pub and it keeps on delivering on quality food and cozy vibes.
Just had lunch at this pub and was so impressed with the service, the quality of the food, and the ambiance. Really very impressed!!! Couldn't recommend more highly.
2.12.2020 It's open again! After a second lockdown the BD finally reopened. Serving pizza 5-7 and normal meal. you can still do take away It's so nice to see life back in the old dog. Food was superb. ..................................................................... This has been my local for many years. I have taken visitors for meals, met up with friends. The food has always been excellent, the staff are friendly and welcoming. It has an out door garden. Dogs and kids welcomed. The Brown dog has recently changed hands, but they will still have their famous hog roast at Barnes fair.
My family and I visited The Brown Dog for the first time a couple of weeks back and were greeted with friendly smiles from the staff who gave warm welcome and a lovely family sized table. The food was amazing! I had the Arancini for appetisers followed by the chicken and ham pie. Best pie I've had in a very long time! We were all stuffed and very well fed by the chef! Thank you and we will definitely return again!
Very disappointed with The Brown Dog this evening. Arrived for dinner around 7pm and attempted to order from the dinner menu. My partner and I both ordered the stone bass. The kitchen had run out. We ordered ravioli, no joy! There were no replacements on the menu or any sort of apology. The menu was very limited and so we ordered fish and chips which was greasy and Luke warm. We will not be back.
Gorgeous Saturday lunch here. Such a great family gastro pub experience. The food was delicious as was the wine. The kids menu was also great and my son wolfed down his spag bowl. Quite an expensive lunch, but I’m sure we’ll be back for a special occasion on when we’re feeling generous. I give it 4stars as service could have been a little bit tighter, we were left waiting wanting more wine a couple of times.
Went to the Brown Dog today for lunch with the family, unfortunately very quickly my father had a stroke whilst we were there. The manager Doug and Ines were incredibly helpful and remained calm unlike us throughout the whole ordeal. They were fabulous and helped us more than they realised Thankyou so much for being so lovely and kind and helping us through the stressful time - you are great! Georgina
Warm and cosy pub in the heart of Barnes. The food is delicious and the service is great. The staff are super friendly!
