Checkers Protea Heights

By far the worst checkers ive ever walked into, its 8:30am and the staff seem like they doing you a favour for being there. Lack of assistance. One would think it is isolated to one department but its not, you go from the Deli, bakery to fresh foods all the same and to top it off the cashiers laugh when you ask to speak to management. If worst customer service was the goal you have achieved that with flying colors.

I just hate going to that Checkers. It is on my way for a quick pop in for 1 item. I don't like the flow of this shop everything feels like a maze and crowded. Staff are not the most friendliness at all. No one knows where any stock or items are...

Busy this time of year. Found what we wanted to make our dessert for Christmas including peppermint crisp chocolate. The que went quickly at the tills and the staff where friendly.

Wow... What a horrible experience. Staff are extremely bad mannered and in your face. Deli meats being touched with naked hands and 60min shoppers shoving you out the way. Customers eating olives out the bowl with their hands, i jad to call someone at the back of the bakery to assist and they weren't bothered that i was calling and No management staff in sight for you to even mention this to. I am not review writter and a very pleasant shopper usually but today i was extremely disappointed by this store. Management needs some serious speaking to. Wow

Not as well stocked as the hyper around the corner, which is expected, but considering the DC for Capetown and the Hyper is not there, I see no reason why they should be short on anything. Trading hours are nice. They open at 8am, most other shops open at 9 only. Shop is not well organised. Staff is not friendly

Nice and convenient but I tend to shy away from the meat there, for some reason it not always fresh. Burnt my fingers more than twice. Maybe some people have better luck but as for me, I don't buy meat from them anymore. Checkers hyper is a better option for that.

Bought a whole fresh chicken and when i got home and took it out of packaging it was already 3 days past sell by date. Drove all the way back, looked at chickens on the shelf in fridge and they were all past sell by date Fetched store manager and showed him His reply was that the merchsndisers were there the previous day and he will address this with them So my understanding then, is that no checks and quality control is done on persihable merchandise LOVELY isn't it?

Horrible shop. At staff are complacent and in the the way. Aisles are literally always BLOCKED by staff unpacking stuff chatting away to each other while doing so. Poor customers have to sidestep and stretch constantly! I've never had a good experience at this store, everytime it's been the same

Good for a quick stop if you need something. Can be a bit cramped, especially when they are busy restocking shelves with boxes lying in the isle.

The shop is nice and usually well stocked. The main issue is the rude, lazy employees, especially at the deli and bakery.
