Restuarant and Live Performance venue with Cash Bar
Club Pelican is an icon in Soweto cultural and musical history. It is interesting because of its past role in the political and cultural history of Soweto – where those who were defiant of the apartheid regime met (and were regularly arrested) but also as a nursery for many of today’s great South African Jazz Musicians and World renowned Producer’s (Ladysmith Black Mambazo played there, Abdullah Ibrahim played there, Lebo Morake aka Lebo M cut his teeth at Club Pelican). Club Pelican was like the New Orleans of Soweto.
