Under the umbrella of CAASA, CUAASA is positioned to support all our members to get our industry and legislation on the aviation map in Southern Africa.
The Commercial Unmanned Aircraft Association of Southern Africa (CUAASA) was formed in 2013 by a group of like-minded individuals and organisations who saw the need to join forces and act as a support organisation and mouthpiece for the rapidly developing commercial unmanned aircraft industry. The commercial unmanned aircraft industry is projected to be one of the largest creators of employment globally over the next decade. Many commercial operators in Southern Africa has invested heavily in technology and research despite a void in the local legislation, with aerial photography, mapping and surveillance the most popular applications. CUAASA is affiliated with CAASA (The Commercial Aviation Association of South Africa) and UVS-Internationaland is positioned to work with all stakeholders to find a suitable framework and eventual legislation for the operation commercial unmanned systems in Southern Africa. CUAASA welcomes all Unmanned Aerial Vehicle operators and enthusiasts and currently has over 60 members.
