I really cannot understand this department. First they tell me 2-3 weeks for processing of documents. Now it is 5 weeks for processing documents. I really wish that this Department can shape up and start doing what is necessary because waiting for documents that is very important and taking so long.
Upscale government and international complex in a quiet area. Easyly accessible. Has strick access control and also houses SADEC offices. Various guest houses in the area seemingly providing accommodation for foreign visitors. The nort south road on the western boundary crosses the hill and gives access to various governmental and diplomatic facilities.
It went from same day processing if you came before 14:00, to one day to 5 to 6 weeks. I am so disappointed as in the first paper work takes forever to arrive as and now another wait for DIRCO which delays the visa application process. It's insane that you could be less than a 1km away and STILL have to fork our courier. Very sad.
The woman that answers calls on the switchboard number is very rude and does not deserve to be doing that job. I called three times and each time I got transferred to the correct department, get placed on hold then calls get dropped. This isn't the issue. The 3rd time I call the switchboard, I try to explain that this is the 4th time I am calling and wanted to confirm a convenient time to call when the department is less busy, I couldn't even finish my sentence, she shouted at me telling me they're the switchboard they just forward calls, in a very aggressive tone. My girlfriend heard here and she wasn't even on loud speaker. This is extremely unprofessional and incompetent.
The lady who answers calls on the switchboard is very rude. She has no telephone etiquette & never has relevant information to assist clients. She is so useless & makes it hard to get relevant assistance from Dirco.
Super upset with the lady whos answers the call on the 9th March 2023 at 11:00AM. Was calling in to find out if ones allowed to drop-off the document for notarial authentication and as soon as she heard this, she throws me with NOs NOs NOs and did not even bother to explain how the process should work. The level of ignorance and incompetence is ridiculous at DIRCO reception. The lady was just one of the perfect example of incompetent 'coke money' driven employees that will not bother about customer service. Nevertheless, DIRCO Pretoria deserves a 0 star until they actually put the person who's willing to assist and provide customer service to the general public.
Efficiency is their priority. On time, professional, well organised. And a great experience. And the grounds are so well kept. The staff really goes the extra mile.
Located in one of the best buildings in government, this is a purpose built and innovatively designed home for the Dept. of International Relations and Cooperation. They are the architects and practitioners of South Africa's foreign policy. It has a great canteen, excellent conference facilities and meeting rooms. It is named after one of the icons of South Africa's struggle for democracy, the close friend and confidante to Nelson Mandela, the gentle and softly spoken OR Tambo
Expected same-day turnaround on our documents, but the processes have been updated. The quickest turnaround time is now 1 day. Otherwise happy with the service, from entry at the gates, to parking in the basement and form submission
Disappointing that what used to be a free and one of the most efficient authentication processes with a same or 1 day turnaround time has now been reduced to an expensive and lengthy exercise now we have to pay couriers who are exploiting the process, PostNet in Francis Baard unashamedly charges R750 to courier docs to Dirco for authentication, it's 5.8kms away, and wait weeks on end for time-sensitive documents. Please rather reinstate an appointment only submission system, that worked.
