We ordered a Masala Rump Gatsby. Though it has more of a curry flavor and served with sambals never had it this way before, it was DELICIOUS!! The half portion was more than adequate for 2 people. The steak was perfectly cooked as well as a generous portion. Old school hand cut chips were the perfect finishing touch. Also ordered a "bolla" which is a type of friend donut soaked in a syrup and it was awesome. Perfect texture and not too sweet.

Love this place due to portion sizes of small chips and delicious tasting chargrill rump steak Gatsby we bought. Definitely going to go here again and with loved ones as this was a date with my loved one The atmosphere of the place was good until an elder couple who littered and had snarky comments put a cloud on guests that was eating there including ourselves. Maybe a sign is needed with a saying 'to treat each other with courtesy and respect' is needed for them to behave better and as the senior couple they should know better.

Took some colleagues for their first Gatsby experience, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The steak was soft and perfectly spiced.Food: 4/5

I ordered myself a grilled masala rump steak sandwich with extra cheese and a Milo shake. The steak, although very flavourful wasnt as tender as I would expect a grilled rump steak to be, instead it was quite tough to chew. I suspect it was rather minute steak used over actual rump. Non the less the flavour was lovely, but I also found that the copious amount of sauce they added to my sandwich made my toasted bread rather soggy. I would actually have prefered whole wheat seedloaf instead of normal bread as that would have prevented that soggy texture. Overall I would remain a returning customer, as the food is quite filling and tasty, and for anyone who hasnt tried a proper Malay-style toasted steak sandwich I would definitely recommend Cosy Corner. The shake was lovely!

This place is a Cape Town institution and known for tasty traditional foods that others struggle to match. Be prepared to queue as it's very popular and you may not find a seat inside the eatery. The wait is worth it because the food is served hot and it's always a treat. On the other hand, parking is very limited and be aware of your surroundings while waiting to be served. The entrance stairs are a barrier to wheelchair users. Parking: Very limited parking

We were coming in from Durban and got told we have to try the Gatsby from here. It was worth the travel from where we were and we had a Masala steak Gatsby. It was great but personally felt the price was a bit steep. The waiting times are also quite long but it makes sense considering the popularityFood: 5/5

What a pleasant first-time experience at Cozy Corner - I had the most scrumptious rump steak sandwich; Helped by such friendly servers, and the best part - no long standing queue.Food: 5/5

Very dissapointed about the food quality lately, I ordered a half a Gatsby, they literally took 57 mins to finish it, I was constantly asking how long or are they preparing the food, the staff would say it's coming now. It needs to change, cosy corner is a well known place and a traditional spot for some people, I can order a Gatsby anywhere else I won't wait more than 15 mins. So why 55 mins for a half? Cmon guys, correct your faults. So much of your customers were complaining whilst I was in line, I overhead a customer ask where's his milkshake which he ordered almost 40 mins ago and it wasn't even made or acknowledged

Quality of their fried masala rump sandwich has gone down badly. More fat and sinew than steak the last 3 times I've ordered it with half of it going into the bin. Not sure if they have a new meat supplier or are cutting costs by using bad cuts. Disappointing.
