Never again! We booked a combined tour mountain bike and wine tasting. The bikes were in very bad shape. Tire profile was worn. Brakes were not set and helmets did not exist. On the way to the wine tasting the bus broke down, probably not for the first time. On our questions by mail we got until today no answer. Money was still fully debited.
My girlfriend bought me a kiteboarding lesson through this company which she could ill afford which made me even more mad. I was in europe and on return to cape town quickly got onto organising. On the first organised date the wind was too strong and the instructor cancelled on the day, then the instructor couldnt make it the next slot, and then the weather was just never perfect, the long and the short of it was they had small print that the gift voucher became invalid after 4 months. Which they were totally to blame for the procrastination. They would not honour an extension and would not refund. These are not good people STAY AWAY from this business! Had dreams of putting a brick through their shop window, aweful people.
We booked a quad biking tour en could not find the place, so we called the number in the email and nobody picked up the phone.. we drove back to the office where they told us we do not get the money back.. they are thiefs! The guy Alex did not told us the terms of condition before and now he was pretending this is normal! He promised to send us a email if we maybe could get our refund..it is 2 days ago already and still no email.. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!
Sharke Cage Diving One of the worst customer experiences i have ever had. After they switched the time of the activity twice, thereby making it unable for me to attend the trips because of other planned activities, they refused to give my money back. To make matters even worse, they ignored emails, sometimes waiting over 1 month ! to react to my emails. There are plenty of other companies who provide such day trips, so if you want to do one, i would definitely recommend going to another one.. Deeply disappointed.
We booked a dune Quad Bike ride, but on the time and date there was no ride available for us, we were guided to runed down quad bike place and the guide we should contact was not available on his phone, the fees were deducted from my credit card 2 weeks before. A total F*** off
Our half-day mountain biking experience with Axel was very pleasant! Everything, from the pick-up to the drop-off time, was well organised and safe. Apart from the biking per se, Axel was kind enough to give us some local tips and useful info, while on our way back we passed through some nice city spots we wouldn't have explored otherwise!
I went on a mountain bike tour on Table Mountain with Downhill Adventures with a friend. Our guide James was a really nice guy with a lot of patience and humor. The tour ended with a small sightseeing in Cape Town on bike as well. We felt that this was a really good experience.
Hi everyone, Unfortunately I would not recommend using DownHill Adventures in Cape Town. If you do so you are very likely to lose your time and money as I did a few months ago. My friend and I struggled from beginning to end. Staff in there is indeed nice, but obviously either incompetent or not professional, or both. After days of patience because of both weather conditions and DownHill's lack of effectiveness, we finally got a timeslot with good weather conditions to go kitesurfing. But when we reached the spot, people there told us there was not enough wind to kitesurf !!! They had know this since very early through weather forecasts !! But they obviously did not find it useful to warn either us or their colleagues back in CT... Additionnaly no one in Downhill Adventures in CT was clever and professional enough to check forecasts early in the morning and warn us about not being able to kitesurf ! After doing stand up paddle for a few hours, we decided to stop and come back to CT, on our way back along the beach, guess what ??? dozens and dozens of people had started kitesurfing because wind had picked up. But of course no one from DownHill reacted in time and proposed to finally go and start kitesurfing !!! These people were just so lazy and unrespectful. We were so amazed that we gave up and came back to CT. Back in the main office in CT, we asked for refund as we did stand up paddle for 2/3 hours instead of kitesurfing for 4 hours. They did not even apologize and refused to refund the difference, they just refunded half of it !!! When treating customers like that, you should not be surprised getting bad reviews on the web. Worst experience in SA.
I would not recommend working with Axel. He was nice upfront but then proceeded to unfairly charge us after the fact. Use another service provider if possible.
