Dr Jan Carstens

Nobody “likes” going to the dentist, but with gentle, soothing music, an efficient, friendly manner and the quiet confidence and obvious expertise in his calling, Dr Carstens always makes my visit, as a patient, as comfortable and as short as possible! I highly recommend this dentist.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Received absolutely shocking customer service from Dr Carstens after my tooth broke just 6 days after my appointment to fix it. As Dr Carstens was on holiday when this occurred, I subsequently had the broken tooth fixed with the recommended alternative dentist. However, instead of even offering to have a look at what the alternative dentist had done, Dr Carstens proceeded to provide both coincidence and the alternative dentist's work as the reason why I am responsible for footing both bills. Find another dentist who actually wants to have good relationships with their clients and not just rake in money.

I have always dreaded a dentist visit and yesterday was my first contact with the wonderful Dr. Jan Carstens. What an amazing experience, everyone in the practice is extremely professional and welcoming. Thank you Dr. Carstens for making my first tooth extraction the "best", you are truly amazing!!!

An excellent, caring and thorough dentist. Dr Carstens is very attentive to one's individual needs and will go the extra mile to help you. I have very sensitive teeth and dentist visits used to be a nightmare, but since switching to Dr Carstens, going to the dentist is a breeze. Not only did he teach me how to take care of my teeth in order to curb the sensitivity, but he is very careful and I hardly feel a thing when he works on my teeth. I recommend him to everyone!

Dr Casrtens is THEE dentist to visit, period. This man is the tooth whisperer, seriously his work is the best. He has always taken great care of me and is genuinely interested about his patients dental care. I'm petrified of dentists but Dr Carstens does a great job of making you feel comfortable. Where my previous dentist has failed, Dr Carstens has fixed their work and made it 100x better. Thank you Dr Carstens, for being so dang good at what you do.

Wisdom tooth extraction went so well! Very little pain and an overall good experience. Also, my young son had to have an op for his fillings and Dr Carstens was just amazing! Highly recommended.

I can thoroughly recommend Dr Carstens. I developed severe toothache over the festive season and despite his practice being closed between Christmas and New Year, he came in specially to assist me which I cannot thank him enough for. One simply does not find such professional dedication as this anymore. Thank you doctor!

What a pity that after 20 years of superb care from Dr Carstens his extremely rude Receptionist leaves me no choice but to transfer to a Dentist whose support staff are more competent and pleasant. Just booking the appointment for Thursday at 10.00 the previous week was with an attitude. And yes I got a reminder SMS on the Wednesday for the Thursday. Well aware of the time I didn't read the full text. As I left for my 10.00 appointment I received a reminder for 10.00 on the Friday - and checking back saw 09.00 for Thursday. On arrival at the Practice I was told that the appointment was for 10.00 Friday. Why then did I receive a reminder for the Thursday appointment - albeit with a time discrepancy? No apology, just plain defensive rudeness.

My dentist and my dad for the past 30 years and still I have no fillings in any of my teeth! He is meticulous and really does love his job and it shows in the quality of his work.

Very professional and excellent service from Dr Carstens, took me through and explained the whole process, and I didn't even feel the injections : Very friendly and will recommend Dr. Carstens to anyone.
