Dr. Fincham himself is fine, very good in fact; that is if you get to see him. Waiting 90 minutes is normal; having people who arrived after you, sent in before you, is normal. Reception seems to send in who they wish and do as they wish. The rates are also questionable; after waiting 75 minutes just to get two prescriptions renewed with other people sent in before us, we were told "if we wish, they can renew it for R520 each, WITHOUT seeing the Dr." That is, after waiting 75 minutes "just pay R1040, and we can renew the prescriptions WITHOUT seeing the Dr." Is that normal / allowed ? Same thing happend before; after waiting 90 minutes for the Dr. to give me an injection; which took him +/- 5 min, the charge was R1200. No Cards allowed, cash only, for which you get no receipt. We found a new Dr. Thus far we are happy with the change. I suggest Dr. Fincham has a serious look at his staff / reception / rates. He may be good, but he is not the only good Dr. arround.
Best GP in SA. Dr knows everything about anything because he stays up to date. He continuously attends seminars, training and exams to give the most professional advise and diagnosis. Yes, be sure your appointment time is only a rough indication of your actual time he'll attend to you, but it is worth the wait in gold!
Don't waste your time. And you will waste it if you go there. Waited an hour and a half in December to no avail, then made an appointment for 8th Jan. I was to be his 2nd patient for the day. Whilst waiting, a patient phoned in and the receptionist was rolling her eyes whilst speaking ubruptly to the person on the other end of the line. All this whilst it was "bring your 6 year old to work day" - so basically a creche and not a doctors room. TWO AND A HALF hours later, when a lady who had arrived AFTER me was sent in, I asked the recptionist what the issue was. I was told that the doctor had came in earlier so they had put in other patients - so blamed the doctor ?. Why they bother to use an appointment system is beyond me. Reception ladies rude and unprofessional. Cannot comment on the doctor as I have yet to see him.
The Doctors is very good but his admin staff bad. They mix up the files. They give you appointment time every time you call but you end up waiting the whole day. Honestly wish they change their booking system.
Just love this doctor very good service . Takes his time to solve your problem and medicate you , never to busy to help , he will listen to you. Not a five minute doctor .
Extremely unprofessional and rude staff. They cannot even speak English. In my opinion, Dr Fincham's current staff should not be allowed to come into contact with the general public. Unfortunately I cannot give a zero star rating, otherwise I would.
Best dr that I have ever met. It's the admin staff that must play their role.
Always a long wait! New patients get helped before all the people waiting for hours in the waiting room. Definitely not worth the wait!
