The only reason a Belgian would get an Amex is for the priority pass for lounges and fast pass at Brussels Airport. Sadly the link with Brussels Airport's fast pass service is almost impossible to log into each time. Not user friendly at all. Patience is key.
Good experience so far with all card related advantages. Somehow direct Debit doesn't work and is "being fixed" but that's the only issue. Customer service through the chat is always fast and helpful.
American Express in Belgium have poor customer servce, although occasionally I had someone competent on the phone. For example, once there was a problem with my monthly direct debit due to the company that Amex uses to process it and after two months without warning my account was closed for non-payment and I had to pay a large admin charge. After complaining to the European headquarters, a new account was opened. A couple of years ago they increased their fees, so I decided to take my business elsewhere.
American Express in Belgium is a scam. I applied for a Platinum card in October. Received the pin 1 week later, but after 1 month I have not received the actual card. I am now asked to pay 65 Euro / month without having ever received the card. Total SCAM
Indeed, terrible customer experience, bugs in the online tool . Very , very unprofessional. A 1 on 5 is probably still overrated. Brussels Airlines should do something, doesn't make any sense to have American Express as business partner : it is just bad publicity.

customer since early 2000"s ... now my last months as pricing has gone up drastically while service virtually crashed ... they are even too lazy to send you a monthly statement by postal service as you have to print it yourself nowadays ... also the rewards programm content and quality has become very poor ... really not worth anything to have an Amex via Alpha Card

Enkele dagen geleden werd ik opgebeld naar aanleiding van mijn vraag omtrent een zakelijke kaart. Als kleine onderneming dachten we dat dit bedrijf wel een oplossing kan aanbieden. De dame aan de telefoon was allesbehalve professioneel. Zeer slechte productkennis, eentonige stem en kon met moeite volledige zinnen vormen. De dame kwam plotsklaps te zeggen dat ze voor bedrijven onder 750.000 euro omzet geen enkele dienst aanbieden. Hierna werd de telefoonverbinding zonder enige excuses of alternatieve oplossing afgebroken. Er komt zogezegd binnen enkele maanden iets op de markt voor KMO's, echter is dit eerder een lokmiddel om over te stappen op een privé kaart. Deze firma heeft echter totaal geen behoefte aan nieuwe klanten vermits ze een vorm van monopolie hebben op de markt. Ik kan dus niet anders dan 1 ster geven vermits 0 sterren niet mogelijk is.
