Exclusive Books, Hyde Park

Ended up at Hyde Park, to pass time of loadshedding. Exclusive books it was. I love being in that space, as we often have meeting of minds as my Besty is well read, and we can have conversations about books and today was mostly on books that have been turned into movies etc.

This is the best bookshop in SA!! By far. Amazing vibe. Many people reading books, working, drinking great Seattle coffee and going to the excellent Olives and Plates. I don't know what is wrong with many customers who take a book/magazine/newspaper off the shelf and can't be arsed to return it... Don't be one of those mindless people!! Be better! There are no plug points to charge laptops at the Seattle tables. But please support Seattle if you are going to sit there!! It would be nice if they had toilets there, but toilets are only for Olives And Plates guests. But I do understand that toilets need space and more effort... And people are irresponsible and messy. Really excellent and I hope people are buying enough books to keep the shop going.

Fabulous bookstore, lots of little reading nooks. Amazing selection so many books! and the children's section is so well set up.

I appreciate that the store offered to order a book they didn't have in store, and communicated promptly upon arrival. That was superb because most book stores hardly offer to extend their service to that point.

Great bookstore! Relaxing atmosphere... Grab something to eat and read... Or have a coffee with your book. Staff is helpful.

The new upgrade is just absolutely stunning! Fantastic views, great menu, well worth meeting there for business appointments and taking a book to read if you want some time out.

One of the best Exclusive Books Stores in the city. It is large and spacious with an abundance of seating options. There is a cafe and a restaurant in the store. They have a large section dedicated to books dealing with history, which is fantastic. I was somewhat disappointed that such a large store in a progressive urban setting such as Sandton did not really have a shelve or section dedicated to LGBTQ+ issues. Nevertheless, a lovely place to spend a morning reading and appreciating books.

Always a great spot to browse, read the paper old fashion style and have a cup of coffee. They always seem to have what I am looking for, the latest were Bill Browders 2 books :

They have the greatest selection of really cute pena, journals and other pretty things to buy as gifts besides the books.

A great selection of books with lots of seating to read. Absolutely amazing food served in the restaurant.
