"Our vision: A wildlife reserve conserving the African wild cats and predators in natural habitat.Felidae Centre is located in the well-known Free State province, which borders on the Northern Cape. The predator reserve is situated only 30 km from the historical town of Kimberley, on the National Road, the N8 head towards Petrusburg.The Felidae Centre started in September 2010 when the Burger family brought in their first two animals, a cheetah and a caracal. The two animals, Thato and Lilo, came from a project where Chriszanne and Nicol had previously worked. Since that time the family has received and raised animals that were abandoned both in nature and by people."

Absolutely wonderful place! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and one of the funniest people I have ever met, she made the experience that much better! The lions look so well looked after, it was so refreshing seeing happy, well fed animals. Listening to the staff, it's clear how much they care for the animals and just how much they love their job.
Absolutely amazing experience. You get to be so close to the lions, leopards, cheetahs and wild dogs! We got to feed the animals aswell and watch the lions feast. The lady who runs the tour goes into depth with each of the animals. One of the best lion parks I’ve been to, highly recommended
Wonderful place to visit. For a few Rand u can get a tour through the sanctuary. With the tour you get to see all the animals and interact with some of them. There are all kind of animals lions, cheetahs, different monkeys and lots more I have volunteered there for 1 month. It was amazing. You learn a lot about the animals and get to watch them up close everyday. Sometimes there is interaction with the animals was well. Volunteers were always nice and the owners were kind and joyful. The landscape is also something to look forward to. I got to see beautiful sunrise, sundown and some badass lightning strikes to see. With my camera I got the best pictures I could ask for. It was the best experience I have had so far and would love to go back someday.
The 2 weeks I spent volunteering at the Felidae Centre have been amongst the most amazing in my whole life! The Burgers are very kind and welcoming and take great care of the animals they've helped rescue and heal! All of the animals are healthy and happy and the volunteer work you do there truly contributes to the animals' and centre's welfare! You will get the opportunity to care for and interact with a variety of animals - not just wildcats - so do not hesitate any longer, the memories you make will undoubtedly be lifelong treasures!
I attended the weekly lion feeding with my family - all I can say is AMAZING! Greeted by amazing staff members. Everyone is so friendly. Small jokes here and there as well entertaining and encouraging the children to participate. We paid R150per person for this tour and you really get your money worth. I can’t imagine what the other tours have to offer! The area, including the enclosures and small souvenir shop are all clean and neat, keeping the authentic look. Walking around with the staff they can answer all your questions and give you fun facts about all the animals. I definitely recommend this place for a roaring lion experience.
I visited Felidae Centre about 3 months ago and this is a true sanctuary for animals. It was really worth the visit. Animals are being treated very well and the family takes good care of us as the volunteers. We were all one happy big family. You work along side the care takers of the animals and all you have to do is follow the rules of the farm and listen to your co-ordinator and you will have an amazing time! My experience was amazing, met awesome people and made friends for life!
An awesome experience with Nico, his volunteers and Nature's beauties. Being up- close with the wild animals and experiencing the trusty relationship Nico built with them; totally serene. Please support them as they are trying to reserve the lives of our wild animals.
It is with much enthusiasm I am writing this review of Felidae Centre. I have been coming regularly to Felidae for the last four years, as well as I have lived at the farm for a year. I have always loved every stay and I have gained so many great experiences. Felidae Centre is a caring and loving sanctuary, for rescued and abandoned animals. The owners of Felidae are the most caring and hard-working people I have ever met in my entire life. The animals are their first priority and they treat all the animals like it´s their children. This is truly a sanctuary with only good intentions and the animals that comes to Felidae have truly been given a second chance in life. One of the great things about Felidae is how the animals are being taken care of. The animals at the farm are living as natural a life as possible. They have big enclosures and they are built to keep them in a stress-free environment. The animals are always being put first, therefor it takes a lot of hard work and money with maintaining all the enclosures, feeding the animals and building enrichments. Many volunteers from all over the world, comes to Felidae because they have a passion for animals, and they want to help out. From my own experiences and from talking to a lot of volunteers during my stay at Felidae, they all love the farm and the owners of it. The volunteers that have come to Felidae are great supporters, and without these loving people, Felidae could not have been here today. All the resources goes to the animals and all the volunteers, including myself, loves to help the animals. Anyone that visits Felidae will not regret it. You truly get a great and awesome experience. It´s so much love, passion, happiness and commitment at the farm. Every animal is so loved, and it´s so many hours of hard work that are being put in to getting the best lives for the animals and the volunteers.
A fantastic experience and we'll worth visiting. Great to meet people who are so passionate and knowledgeable about what they are doing. Definitely worth visiting and also a worthy cause to support if you are looking for a charitable outlet.
Felidae is heaven on earth. The family is worm and welcoming, the experience of working for and with those amazing animals and people is the beat thing that's ever happened to me! I made friends from all over the world, had my dream of working with big cats come true, I did things I never thought I would, which made up a great experience. The Burgers heed to every need of the volunteers, whether it's a health issue or anything else. When a few of us decided to go to Capetown for a weekend, they were there helping us, and even took us to and from the airport. The food is amazing and is made with love and caring for every possible diet of choice and there are tons of fun activities outside the farm, such as restaurants, safari trips and other things that make up the perfect trip. I would definitely go back there!!!
