My name is Jonty (or Jonathan) and Iam the current owner , son of Ingo and Bridget Orlop who founded the business in 1978. We have always made furniture (sofas, beds , cupboards etc) but started specialising in making (the most delicious) sofas for the last 21 years , to which our own factory focuses all of its attention , one order at a time so everything is well made not mass produced.
We are The Manufactures of our Gorgeous trade mark sofas from our Valentino range (and others) . Our Factory is in Northriding and deliver to Jhb and surrounding areas with our own delivery team , whilst if further abraod the country we use our tried and tested furniture transporters such as Campos Transport and H&M Removals- if you would like to take one of our Lovely sofas or Art works to your holiday home in the cape etc .
Please come by our showroom as sofas will look like sofas until you sit and feel what makes us different. What Ive tried to do is give our showroom a south african flavor. Instead of importing a look that looks nice like the french look we all adore and do a completely french themed home, RATHER Ive put together somthing thats uniquely south African ( Not African , not european but South African = a mix of the two) that I believe shows our culture and Life Jesus Christ has blessed us with here .
We who know this lovely land that Jesus has blessed and is working on , is such a gorgeous place with its tree lined roads and afternoon thunderstorms and our homes are an extension of how blessed we find our selves here . Large Rooms , sun pouring in , garden views with trees , and a climate that allows us to open up our doors more often than not.
Its probably because of this and my delight in trees (from climbing them as a child) I love to bring the outside- inside, so Ive put some pieces in like a chandelier that resembles an oak tree . Other pieces that we sell that bring the outside -inside are my artworks .
These vary in size between 1,5m x 1m to 4,10m x 2,1m (at the moment) and having been stirred in my heart to do them from around 2008 Jesus has blessed me with producing around 100 and having sold about 90 of them. The Art is done in Charcoal and I wanted to give a "feeling" rather than to try make them absolutely realistic. All these artworks of mine has a dedication to Jesus Christ The Lord God of Israel , Who is The Eternal God and my personal Saviour and The Only Saviour from my ( our) Sins wage. How loved and prized we are by Him!!
I've brought in a sailing theme with the South African theme because sailing is beautiful . There are a couple things Jesus Christ has blessed man with the inspiration of making and enjoying and sailing could not be more aply described- If you've never done it please do try it one day, it truelly is wonderful . Yachts are my personal favourite , they're magnificent and delicate ; Holding the wind for a moment in time and skimming over the great oceans. This theme I had to bring in so I've drawn a couple yachts which come up for sale once in while - keep an eye open for these , they usually are large between 2.1m x 1,3m and 4m x 2,1m. There is the odd decor piece like a large model Yacht with its large sail or iron tiny iron yachts that would rest on a server/desk.
BUT now for me to tell you about our Speciality, which is our Gorgeous sofas. Our Most popular range is called our "Valentino XL" range. It is deep and high enough with a cloud-like back cushion so that you can rest your head and neck ( and accidently fall asleep...often ).
Our Most popular fabric is our Orly Cord Range (it is sooo Soft, you must come in and try it for yourself) . It is FULLY MACHINE washable.
We have had Dog/cat wee, BLACK SHOE POLLISH and RED WINE !!! all come out (and i must add have come out of a couple colours including more recently the White Cord. That amazing testimony said about the Cord, we can manufacture your choice of sofa in any fabric known to mankind ;), and if you like we can preshrink any of them and protect it so that your sofa cover is as practical as if you had chosen the Cord range .
We protect our Orly Cord with whats called Teflon Coating , this protection is MUCH , much better than Scotch Guard which would come off your fabric after one single wash and it leaves a residue on your fabric , making it rough and hard. Whilst Teflon Coating is Oil based and because its oil based keeps the fabric soft ,and it lasts 8-10 machine washes.
Teflon is applied when the fabric is in roll form and goes through a bath and then is cured into the fabric after going through a long firey train -unlike Scotch Guard thats applied as a spray onto your sofa like deodorant spray .
Another wonderful thing about our lovely sofas is that they have Tailor made loose covers so they fit beautifully and are not sloppy and when they get dirty you can (as your read above) machine wash , but since our sofas have these loose covers you can purchase a space cover so that you can change your colour scheme , or have a Spring and Winter look , or in a couple years you want to just give your home a different look.
Our Inners hold their shape beautifully , fluffing is not a daily chore as sofas can be, you would probably fluff your seats once in a blue moon, as we do our in our showroom and they hold up wonderfully. We do recomend that they are fluffed once every week or two but they last wonderfully as our showroom demos show .
Our After Sales Serive includes helping you maintain your Gorgeous sofas from us , we recomend a service between every 2-4 years (as a car does too need an oil change). When your sofa needs a fluffing you just call us and we are here to help you look after it. We have produced our Valentino XL range for about 14 years now and have found that our clients love them still and that they are holding up to the weares and tears of family life very well. We cant specify how long they do last but certaily can say that they wont collapse and be a throw away sofa like so many sofas you get from retailers these days (no matter how well known they are). Who would buy a sofa for R15000 and accept willingly to discard it after 2-5years. No one would put that money into a box and after that period just through it into a fire... well thats what one does by buying a sofa from the wrong shop.
Last point to our sofas : remember we have other styles and can also manufacture our Popular Valentino XL range with Square arms if you prefer.

May we all consider if Jesus Christ is our Saviour yet , for it is Eternity in Heaven or Hell that we are dealing with and Jesus tells us that He does not want to loose one sinner to Hell but also says elsewhere that broad and wide is the highway to destruction for the many who choose that way, but Iam the Narrow Door that few will find -do you best to enter in through me ( people will try stop you and tell you there are other ways but there are not - Iam The Only Way).
