Great experience, but they need to invest in card machines. It is not safe to carry 75 euro R1400 cash in our country.

We have only had very pleasant experiences with the Consulate and staff . They are very helpful and willing to assist with what they are able to do . As always , appointments are a must and having the required documents, original and copies at the ready helps on both sides .

I wish I knew the name of the lady I had my visa interview with. It turned out that I had completed an older version of the application form a bit silly that it was still available online at the time and instead of turning me away outright she had every right to, she took the time to first make sure that all my other documentation was in order in case there were more problems. After making sure that they were fine, she helped me setup a new appointment and showed me exactly how the new one looks. I'm really great full and appreciative of the kindness shown. It's almost time for the next appointment so I really hope everything goes smoothly I'm going over all my documents every night to be sure!

As a German citizen I have had a disgusting experience with the German consulate in Cape Town. Their phone lines are disabled due to Covid yet they are working in the office, how does that make sense? Also they don't reply to emails.

Very efficient and well organised. Book an appointment online and make sure you have all the correct paperwork and everything will go very smoothly and quickly. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Can only say promote everyone to a head of department in Germany. I am German and never have received a better service in a Behörde. Mrs W. replied to my first request on a driver license issue right away, sorted in the consulate in 15min and my passport application 2 days later went also super well. Friendly staff. Read the website and bring documents listed and copies of all and you done in 15min. Only minus point is that if you have still a German address as i do if you own a house they charge you for your passport instead of 81 euro a whopping 141. Would rate 1 star but that's not the staffs fault, that's Germanys one.

I was lucky enough to have very pleasant interactions. I didn’t wait a long time, I was assisted by a very helpful and kind women. I was made to feel very comfortable and not rushed. So far all of my interactions with all the staff have been pleasant

Encountered a horribly rude woman. Felt near tears.

Customer service is non-existent, very unpleasant ladies at the counter windows. Efficiency does not apply to this embassy. Telephones don't get answered. Had an appointment - sat for an hour waiting for my appointment because they were running late. Then to be turned away because I am submitting my visa TWO weeks to early. I have to make a new appointment, take more time off work, sit for another hour. Nowhere on the website does it say within 3 months of leaving. Employ South African please - service will improve, phones will be answered. Productivity will increase.
