GOSTO - A Taste of Portugal

I am so happy that I didn't allow irrelevant reviews on this platform to put me off from going for dinner at Gosto. The service was great and attentive. The food was some of the highest quality sea food we ever tasted. The prawns were massive and I loved the fact that it was "clean" - the food wasn't drenched in butter and sauces. It was freshly made and it showed. The atmosphere was nice - yes, on the darker side although we liked it like that and there was music on as well. The best choice we made to have dinner here on a Thursday evening.

Do not overlook this restaurant! Although the calamari was a bit small as a main; my son said it was the best he ever had. The seefood stew was absolutely delicious; be aware, it is a huge portion although it may not look so. Great vibe. Good service.Food: 5/5

Very impressed! The decor is very welcoming and the ambience is perfect. There’s a fireplace for those chilly Clarens’ nights Good friendly service The food is amazing! All 3 of us were so impressed with the food. We had Moroccan stew, Chickpea Lentil curry and Chicken curry. Plates were polished! Very tasty and flavourful!

Really impressive restaurant! I was a bit sceptic to book this place, but they exceeded all our expectations. From the food to the service to the people working there - excellent!

A barn style restaurant with an open setting. The atmosphere was enhanced by the live music performance and topped off with a great meal. I'd suggest gostos half chickenFood: 5/5

Very nice restaurant with a great selection of food and wine. The food was tasteful and well prepared. The service was poor, and the waiters paid more attention to what was happening outside instead of focusing on paying customers.

Called last minute to get a table for dinner… “We fully booked” was the response… anyway Frans made a plan! Great service and delicious meal! Fog & mozzarella starter amazing… main course, Vegetarian lasagne and broccoli & Gorgonzola pie was delicious!

Awesome Portuguese restaurant in Clarens... food is from the top shelf... service is excellent...our server was always checking up on us...vibey atmosphere...we were lucky enough to enjoy some live music... overall a must visit restaurant when you visit Clarens or just passing through.Food: 5/5

We enjoyed the food, waiters didn’t really seem interested in serving us, one took a shot in the kitchen just in view of our table. We did come on a Sunday night, maybe that influenced the service. Would rather go elsewhere next timeFood: 3/5
