We were greeted with huge smiles and champagne at the door. The rooms where spacious clean and the ambiance are perfectly maintained for the guest convenience. Bar fridge was stocked with cool drinks, water, and chocolates that were complimentary to guests. The outside gardens were well kept pretty and really peaceful to be in. You don't have to stress about winter chills as the room had fireplace, heated towel rack, electric blankets, and an aircon for the unbearable nights. Food was really well presented and tasted really good. I highly recommend the lamb shank. Definitely recommend this piece of beauty.
Granny Mouse is beautiful! I loved the old English charm of the property and the gardens. Our room 17 was lovely with great views. The staff was super friendly and I loved the bubbly on arrival. I would have given 5 stars if not for the dismal dinner at the The Bistro. Food was tasteless and looking at previous reviews of the food, clearly nothing has changed. Breakfast was good but please change the awful coffee on offer in the morningwould I recommend this lodge? Definitely, sadly the dining I would not.
Food and wine tasting is a must!!! We were explained in detail about each wine and what is paired well with it , the staff was really attentive and knowledgeable, granny mouse is a beautiful place and a lovely experience! The crumbed starter that we had was quite salty , it would have been really lovely beside the the saltiness
Rooms are spacious with fireplace and electric blankets, service superb from all staff we dealt with. 2km river walk easy and peaceful along the river and if you're quiet, you'll spot the odd buck. Garden has funny signs. We had supper at the bistro and recommended the bacon chilli cheese burger! Well worth it. Watch out for the specials at granny mouse!
We received such excellent service during our time at Granny Mouse. We only visited for lunch, but would definitely consider staying a night or two next time. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was delicious.
Accomodation was average . They included breakfast and also agreed to cater for my Vegan lifestyle , but when we got there they were not able to cater for me . we ended up eating out for 3 days . If you are Vegan or vegetarian this place is not for you. When i ordered my own dinner feom outside they refused to let us eat it in the lodge . the manager agreed to warm my food but then told me i cant eat it there .
Amazing location, nicely kept rooms. However I found the food and service to be below expectations for a 4 star hotel. The meals were overpriced for what we received and the accompanying sides differed from what the menu advertised. We had to often call a waitress/waiter over instead of being checked on. I also mentioned when booking dinner one evening that we had gotten engaged that day, but no notice was taken of this.
Stunning place. Lots of little extras to make your stay pleasurable. Breakfasts were great but dinners were horrible. Wonderful management who take the time to chat with patrons. Spa staff and Bongi at reception were amazing. Was cold and rainy but could not make use of the fireplace due to it being summer. The rest of staff were not at all friendly. Couldn't even force a smile.
Amazing place to relax and unwind. We booked for 3 nights. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have quite a bit of activities to do on site as well. The restaurant menu is very limited. There's very less veg and lamb/chicken options. If you're staying for more than 2 nights, the menu becomes monotonous. Also, the WIFI constantly cuts off when there's a lot of people connected to the AP. I noticed on the days when there were less people at the resort, the WIFI was perfect.
Lovely helpful staff. The spa was particularly well organized. We loved the chocolate and liqueur tasting. Fine dining evening, not so outstanding. Great value for 2 night special Rooms: 5/5
