Growing Healthy Farms develops sustainable agroecological natural farms to feed children and local communities in Africa while teaching the art of growing
Our farms have two aims - to produce food naturally for orphaned children while creating jobs by teaching ecological farming skills to the unemployed. We are supported by our local communities who buy our veggies from our farm store Growing Healthy Foods, which helps us to cover the cost of the running the farm in order to feed the children and run our training programmes.
Growing Healthy Farms NPC is a not for profit organisation, and has a fully developed young urban farm. The farm is planted monthly for successive harvesting throughout the year. We will be reaching our goal of providing our community with organic vegetables, and our mission of feeding 1014 orphans every month with at least 150g of fresh vegetables each day, by December 2016 as the farm is now fully developed.
The team is managed by Jacques and lead by Promise who has been Jacques apprentice since 2011 and now teaches new members and emerging farmers the art of growing naturally.
Jacques, Yelang & Zain founded Growing Healthy Farms NPC with the vision to develop example farms to change the views of conventional farming and to ensure that the future leaders are well nourished for healthy bodies & minds. All donated funds are handled in a transparent way to ensure beneficiaries get what they need to become sustainable.
