Healthnicon was established in March 1995 as a Private Nursing School and was one of the first privately owned nursing schools in South Africa to be accredited by the South African Nursing Council. The school has been training nurses in all nursing categories. Healthnicon has successfully trained quality healthcare practitioners for the past 19 years. Healthnicon is registered as a Higher Education Institution until 2017, thus classified on the same level as a private university.
All three campuses are easily accessible by various modes of transport. Students from all sectors of the community approach these colleges for learning opportunities. Healthnicon receives between 3000 – 5000 applicants from all nine provinces yearly and accommodates 770 full time nursing students per year at the three campuses.
The College has enjoyed a 100% pass rate of all South African Nursing Council approved formal Nursing Programs. And 25% of all South African Nurses employed has been trained by Healthnicon.
