Too crowded. In contrast to Saarland University library, where I studied, that had more private spaces surrounded by book shelves the reading rooms I saw in Heidelberg are large open spaces. You see and hear a lot of people come and leave and come back again. It disturbed my focus constantly. I did not find the library to be a great place to read in quiet.
I'll miss this place. Magical atmosphere. I never had any problems to find what I was looking for and studying went pretty well everytime I was there. It is full at times and you need to get there early or late. Check beforehand what the busiest times are and avoid them. If you are prone to being distracted avoid the larger areas and take something to cover you ears I used onear headphones and played soothing music/ sounds quietly The staff is super nice and even when I was in a rush and forgot to take off my coat they stayed friendly. I never hesitated to ask them a question and if they ever got annoyed with me they dindn't show it.
Really great and comfortable library. Has many books and printers. The bathrooms are clean. All in all, a nice place to study.
Great place. Please get the "money change machine" for the lockers fixed. But maybe just getting new lockers would be easier ^^ and some baskets for books and lap-top transportation would be appreciated. Cheers ;
Ancient library, detailed decorations. Huge and fully equipped with access to borrowing books and Internet. It also offers a huge 3 reading rooms for self study.
Pretty awesome, but only if the vending machines can also be accessible to non student card holders
Currently the facade is under construction, and the interior is a nice though not entirely touristy place to visit.
The best library in my entire life.
There are free lockers that require a deposit in the basement. Nice place to spend a quiet afternoon reliving university days.
