High Groove

Restaurant has very bad service. Got seated and waited for about 15 min for the waitress to come back so that we can ask for a drinks menu because she only brought the food menu. Don't understand why there is separate menu's anyway. Whe got uo and left.

Rooms are comfortable and neat. Manager is trying his best but can't make any decisions without the owner's approval who is living in Cape Town. Prices on the rooms went up since we last slept over at Highgrove a week ago. Not negotiable. Wanted to sleep over for longer at a better price but we were refused. Rooms: Neat and clean but not worth the increased price. The blinds in the bathrooms are old and broken and it gives a "don't care" feeling to this supposedly 4 star establishment. Noteworthy details: A cockroach was crawling on my partner and also on the bar counter. Was too grossed out to eat here and had to go to town to look for an alternative place to eat

Definitely would recommend this place. Well worth the money. Restaurant food is great and at a great price and excellent service.Rooms: 5/5

My review is based solely on the restaurant which is the only aspect of High Grove that we went to. The meal selection is wide ranging and very affordable. I was initially a bit dubious but it turned out to be one of the best places I have eaten at in quite some time. Definitely a hidden gem in the small town of Tzaneen. I would highly recommend and will be visiting again.

I am a regular customer. Since lockdown everything has gone downhill. A once sought after place is now a disgrace. Bedding in the room smells like old sweat. Hake and calamari combo for R145 was an utter disapointment.Prices went up and everything else downwards . You wont see me againRooms: 1/5

I only went to the restaurant, which is ideal for relaxing, meeting, or any group function. I loved that it's situated outside the busyness of the CBD .Hotel highlightsLuxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet

I placed an order for a 500g rump at 18:45, had a couple of beers and my food just never came. By 21:30 I was fed up of waiting so asked where my food was and the waiter said he had forgot about it. I asked for my drinks bill and left, had to get take aways on my way home. Absolutely terrible service. Inside the bar area is stuffy and hot as they don't turn on the fans or aircon.

The food is amazing. And the place has a good vibe at nightRooms: 4/5
