I came to Hippo Creek's long range 1.3km three times in the last few months, each time paying R262. I would like to bring a few things to your attention that I believe are not up to standard, and should be corrected: 1. The rubbish has not been removed for several months now - The dustbins were overflowing many months ago, and there is still rubbish lying all over the place old rubbish, worn from the sun and wind. 2. The grass and weeds in front of the shooting terrace are very high, making it difficult to see the gongs in the valley when shooting prone. 3. The grass and weeds in front of the gongs are very high, making it difficult to spot the gong or spot where on the gong you actually hit, especially since some of the gongs are placed in a ditch. 4. Some of the steel poles holding the gongs are about to collapse. 5. Some of the gongs are skew, from the wires being shot through. 6. The grass on the jeep track going to the mountain and to the gongs is very high and scrapes your car's bumper. I suggest someone goes there every Friday to do maintenance, cut grass and remove rubbish. It leaves a bad taste every time after we've just paid R262 per person to find the facility in such a poor state.
Hippo Creek has such a great variety of clays. Very few clubs can offer 13 ranges. Only downside was the amount of no birds. Will defintley visit again.
Great shotgunning range that hosted the clay target World Championships. Have a 22lr and handgun range that needs upgrading e.g. lights. Not the cheapest range. They also have 100, 200 and 300 meter rifle range. Not bad pub meals and they will do good meals for larger groups.

I thought I heard incorrectly so I double checked, Price quoted R130.00 for one hour for the rifle range. Rooikraal is R130.00 for the day. Your price is crazy. At 300 m.... after checking my target my hour is over LOL.
Shooting your firearm or rent one, fully licensed pub and grub.
Friendly and helpful staff. Management team always willing to accomodate requests to make it a pleasant and memorable experience. Highly recommended!
Its nice for all sorts of firearms. Love the skeet shooting ranges.
