About

Welcome to Hotel Savera Our hotel has been recently revamped giving you the best of our interests, Come join us for an amazing experience!!!

Description

Hotel Savera has changed remarkably over the past few months, boasting an array of exciting new features and beautifully designed rooms, set to enhance the experience of guests.

The hotel is themed around the 1860 Indian Indentured labourers, who travelled from India to KwaZulu-Natal to work in the sugar cane fields over 150 years ago.

The entire hotel is inspired by the 1860 theme. From our forefather’s roots in India, to their voyage to South Africa, the hotel now tells a story of the struggle, the pain and more importantly the victory our forefathers endured to make a place for us in South Africa today.”

Between 1860 and 1911 about 150, 000 people left India for the shores of South Africa under the British system of indenture. They voyaged with the expectations of a bright future, leaving behind their families, friends, religious and cultural societies. During the passage, they endured a harsh and inhumane journey. Their lives in South Africa were arduous and trying, but they preserved and paved the way for future generations. Today, there is more than 1, 2 million Indians in South Africa. Chairman of the hotel Dhilosen Pillay has dedicated this hotel to those men, women and children who made that journey.
When one walks into the hotel, they are instantly attracted to the beautifully designed walls which inscribe the story of the Indentured Indians. There is a fine attention to detail in every room, each completing the story of our ancestors.

The journey starts in the Indus Lounge- an ideal place to enjoy tea, cake or a light lunch. The Indus lounge represents the society who made the decision to leave their homeland in a bid to create a better future. Then there is the VIP executive bar, which is named after the SS Truro. Inside is a serene atmosphere filled with important information pertaining to the labourers. The hotel hosts supper clubs & private functions in the Lotus room. The hotel will also see the launch of a 350 seater conference centre and 20 functional rooms, which will represent the key states of India.

The dining area was dirty. The bunnies was excellent. They had no stock on popular cooldrinks. I was there on a Monday night and the waiters excuse was that the weekend was busy. Service was good bit I suggest that more attention be paid to dining area. Not all of us come to sit at the Bar. I came with my daughter and would like a nice neat area to come with my family .
Well done to Jerry and the team for showing us a good time. Our sports team stayed here for the weekend and they really did their best. Regards Seano.Rooms: 4/5
It was my first time visiting or staying over at the Hotel Savera, and I was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted by a friendly helpful face Shanice when I arrived, checked in with ease, and was escorted to my room. The room was well kept and has all the facilities one would expect, Aircon, Wifi, TV with Netflix, Amazon and the likes, tea and coffee station. The bathroom was neat, towels were provided. Breakfast was served on time. Overall, I was pleased with the accommodation and service provided. The only suggestion I have is the installation of a generator for the rooms.
Hi everyone. Savera hotel is an amazing place too chill and relax. Today was my first event with them. There food, music as well as there customer service was incredible and outstanding. They implied everything that I have want and made my event a success. Thanks you to the events manager, will definitely consider you in our next event.
Had a great time. Many more to come in the New Year. My home town. Born and raised in 2 Iris AVENUE. Best days of my life. Attended Falcon Park Primary. Can clearly remember when Hotel Savera getting built in 1973.
Poor service delivery, for package deals. On Facebook everything looks nice and lovely, but on your function date it is different. What you are promised and pay for is not what you get. No coordination, communication, staff and management are not professional and they are arrogant, my suggestion to choose other venue# My function was the 24th December and today is the 29th and I am still waiting for the general manager to call me.
Good food and nice pub , haven't stayed here but had family stay there so got to see the rooms .Rooms: 3/5
Hi everyone just a review on my stay at savara. Had amazing time at the hotel, the casino attendants was on point with their customer service including their remarkable manager. Great conversation starters, very cool and clam atmosphere. Will definitely visit on my next business trip. You guys are amazing, keep it up!
The accommodation was fine. The location was also suitable for the purpose of our visit. The service in respect of the making up of the room left a lot to be desired. The breakfast in the morning was poor. A simple request for salt and butter only came after the breakfast was over. We went down for breakfast every morning at 08:00 and was served at 09:30. We were delayed for our appointments everyday. We invited a few family members for supper on Saturday night at about 17:45. We sat and waited until 19:30 because we were told that the curries were still cooking, to be later told by a staff member that we were being lied to by the manager because there was nothing cooking. We at to leave and find another place to have supper. This was both frustrating and embarrassing for us and our guests.
I ordered a Cornish chicken curry it wasnt good at all the manager apologized and replaced it with a mutton curry which I ended up quite enjoying
