Decided to try the breakfast here since it always looked full when driving past. The coffee was nice and strong. I opted for the mince on toast. To my surprise it was super flavorful and rich. The bread was toasted just right and everything just worked well. The pancakes were also nice but could have been a tad bit warmer when served. Great experience, service is good. Just a pity that some of the tables are on a dirt patch.
What takes the 'cake' about this place for me, is that the food is all halal! Scope the pun there? I love their petite and delicately designed and crafted desserts. Their schwarmas are delicious. There is also a second-hand book shop alongside the cafe that is affordable and ranges from books across all types of genres. It is glorious with a wealth of books and I'd say it has become my favorite book shop. This is the perfect coffee shop to go to for an afternoon with a friend.
Overall food was okay to good but the service really moves this from a 3.5 to 4 star. To start the iced coffee isn't worth the effort and the strawberry milkshake is a little tart for my liking. The steak sandwich is yum but I think next time I will stick to the more middle eastern food. Please ensure that you get the specials menu. The laffa like wraps are tasty but dipped in that garlic sauce it is heaven. The cake is the biggest let down. I heard great this but in the end the chocolate moose tasted more like gelatin than chocolate. Really disappointing. This all sounds so negative but it is honestly a lovely spot with an excellent wait staff who are very attentive.
Great food, efficient service and a lovely setting. The mixed grill is one of my favorites as a main and the strawberry crepe cake is a delicious dessert. They also make wholesome breakfasts which have saved me from going to Mcds when loadshedding hits!
I went in Iris Garden today around lunch time. The restaurant is nestled in a quiet spot in Rivonia. The staff was really friendly and very accommodating. I had a hazel nut latte and tasted the blue velvet macha. The barista does awesome designs on the macha. For the mains I had the Iris Garden breakfast. This came with a chicken vienna, grilled halloumi, tomatoes, eggs, mushrooms and ciabatta bread. It came with macon but they happily swapped that out as I don't eat that. It was substituted with avocado. Overall the breakfast was mediocre. The eggs were poached to my request which was great. The halloumi was thin strips and seemed dried out. The prices were on the high side but the food could have been better. The atmosphere was chilled for a Saturday meal. I would consider returning to try their baked food as they looked great but I was stuffed after the meal so couldn't try them. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options across the menu
The Lebanese cuisine was mouth watering . The Beef Schwarma was flavourful with a mix of different middle eastern flavors. The Open Salmon sandwich was yummy . The lime milkshake and cold hazelnut latte were a dream . An owner involved restaurant which makes the place feel more homely.
Nice, peaceful environment. Friendly service. Good quality, tasty pancakes and French toast. Variety of options for breakfast, brunch and lunch Prices very reasonable Drinks menu is extensive, multiple different teas and coffee drinks available. Cappuccino was strong and good quality
Call it a brunch venue or the best coffice in town. With ample safe parking light meals and everything in between, this is a must for those wanting to chill

A relaxed Café with friendly staff and a very talented barista - thanks for the extra large Cappuccino. The cakes looked delicious... I tried the Tiramisu Crepe cake and it was absolutely divine - delectable layers of crepe, cake and cream. I'm looking forward to trying the other flavours too. The restaurant is perfect for a chilled breakfast or an afternoon catch up with friends.
