Description

Jaques de Bruyn Fine Artist in the Garden Route Region, South Africa. I work mostly with acrylic on stretched canvas, as well as pen and ink on fabriano paper. My artworks are generally double exposure items, although my ink drawings tend to be more in the "Steampunk" style, which I adapted to suit my personal style. I paint mostly landscapes, cows, fish, portraits, masks....basically anything that catches my fancy!

"Jaques De Bruyn °1970, South Africa is an artist who works in a variety of media. By representing the universal language of a ‘communal world’, his artworks references everyday objects and scenery as well as the hypothetical thought provoking world of the Inner-self.His creations are on the one hand touchingly structured and on the other hand teasingly raw. Again and again, the artist leaves us orphaned with a mix of conflicting feelings and thoughts.By exploring the prototype of objects within objects in a fun and colourful way, he investigates the dynamics of landscapes and objects, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of spectacle based on our assumptions of what this means to us."
