Used to be the biggest Masjid in the Southern Hemisphere. Nice and beautiful. Wudhu khana is unique. Has a fish pond.
The ladies' section is always clean and available... to simply read your salaah. Always other ladies there. It's comfortable. The 2 stars is because I made the mistake of visiting the Men's section once for a mini museum exhibition . I was shocked by the difference. In the men's section I saw palm trees and water fountains and beautiful fittings. I remind myself... I'll get those in Jannah.
Historic gem of a musjid. Huge, immaculately maintained, well attended musjid. Parking can be problematic but only during office hours. Great significance as the 1st Jummah musjid in Durban, and also held the record for the largest musjid in the southern hemisphere for decades.
Allah has blessed us with this fine masjid...One thing missing ...air-conditioner ...
