A place of painful history of Black Students who raised their Passion, free choices in Education during Apartheid erra 16th June
The place is still clean and well maintained from inside to the outside, and they have all the information about the June 16 history. I enjoyed my visit at this place.
A great educational outing if you want to learn more about the Soweto student uprising which happened in 1976, very informative through pictures and artworks displayed at the gallery. The guided tour option is no longer available though
Kids hang out there but it's a beautiful place
Nice place very informative, keep up the good work, teaching generations to come about our history
Learning experience about June 16 - 1976
The Acre is another place other than Hector Pieterso Museum, where the story of the students uprising on the 16th June 1976 is told. At the Acre you find a mural in which the route followed by the marching students followed. You also will see a time of the day where each major incident happened. Outside the venue there is a statue of Tsietsi Mashinini. The place is good place to be visited by students and normal tourist who need to know more about the history of Soweto.
The place is cool full of memories and our late Tsietsi Mashinini is still wearing his mask,Salute!!
