Kelso Station

During December 24 2022, 9 people were locked out of the train station from 8:00am to 9:06am opens at 8:00am. Paths and roads were not iced. When the station lobby was unlocked at 9:06am a high frequency alarm went off for 2-3 minutes until stut off by security. Cozy inside but restrooms were locked. Place itself is not bad in the winter but I couldn't get ahold of any employee's via the number on the doornumber didn't even work, just rang once and stopped

The place is clean. And up kept well. The place is run by senior volunteers wich is great. Except these ones could be friendlier. When I asked to be let in restroom I had to show a ticket to use It no problem it keeps out the rif raf. But they could of been not so accusing while doing so. Beautifully kept.

a great experience. I visited kelso,wa/longview,wa for a week to see my girl on a love trip via amtrak and the train station looks retro and awesome as I expected. the station depot volunteer was very helpful and informative. will visit again! : i see a lot of 1 and 2 stars...for those complaining about the train and views,I would suggest you support train travel and less bus and plane travel and complain to AMTRAK and BSNF or have the towns and cities clean up the surrounding areas on your train trips and fund them to improve train services and quality of train cars.

First time taking Amtrak. Will be the last. Was taking train from seattle to Vancouver. Got stuck halfway between Kelso and Vancouver. Yes, literally 15 min worth of travel left in the ride, and had to sit here for two hours while waiting for them to figure it out. Train had to backtrack to Kelso and I had to have a friend drive up to pick me up otherwise it would be another 1.5 hrs wait in Kelso for another train to take me 30min south. Terrible first experience. Would be my last. Will spend the extra money and time on a rental from here on out.

The actual ride was nice. It was roomy, clean, comfortable, and very nice employees. However, most of the scenery is vandalized heavy equipment and shipping yards. I understand now that traveling with Amtrak is really just affordable travel and public transportation. We were told when we made reservations that it was pretty scenery. We were hoping to see landscaping not able to be seen from the highways.

Absolutely horrible experience. We booked a room thinking it would be a nicer more relaxed experience with dinner and refreshments included, it was not. The train was 30 minutes late for arrival things happen, we understood. Then we got to our room which was tiny, stunk like an old bathroom, and was told dinner was only served on the longer rides. We were told we could have a salad and water, but could go down and get better food from the lounge. We went down there to find microwaveable food that was HORRIBLE. The train made over 5 stops total, which put our arrival over an HOUR behind from the original arrival time to our destination. One including a “smoke break”. This was supposed to be an easier way to travel but ended up taking so much longer than it should have and was an awful, dirty experience. I do not recommend upgrading the room at all.

Great way to economically travel. Station volunteer is kind and available limited times. Better to contact Amtrak customer service by phone or on the website. The website has a list of common questions & answers for customers or interested parties that wish to travel by train. Ok to sleep on train for a nite. Meet nice folks and you can always carry on food to eat, listen to music, use your computer, sight see, nap or sit back and relax.

Look for a man name Dave. He is a volunteer here at the station. He's amazing, helpful and very caring/compassionate to all traveler's here. If your train is delayed he is there to assist & accommodate you. Plus, he's good company! Thank you Dave!!!

I would like to start off that the service and the ride as a whole was outstanding and deserves 5 stars. I definitely recommend to use this train. The only reason I gave the review 3 stars which should be lower is solely because of one individual who worked there, named Michael I wish I knew his last name. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. He demanded my grandparents to split up and move seats on a half empty train and was very strict and straight forward about it, showing zero emotion and empathy. He also threatened to throw us off the train when we showed our disapproval towards how he treated an elderly citizen. It honeslty shocked our entire group how he acted. Amtrak deserves an employee that cares more about their customers and represents who they are as a company.

It's a very nice train station along the river in downtown Kelso there is no train station in Longview so this facility serves both communities, it has been recently modernized
