Knysna Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgery

When I had to face the reality that the pain in my shoulders and knees will require replacement surgery by an orthopaedic surgeon the question in my mind was “Do we even have a good orthopaedic surgeon in Knysna”? Some of my friends had joints replaced, one had neck surgery, but I never bothered to ask for the name of their surgeon, now I had to. One after the other said, Dr Tim Reardon. He came highly recommended by people that I know, and that was enough for me. During my initial consultation after having CT’s etc we discussed the first step, being that the most painful shoulder would need to operated on and replaced first , and then 3 months later , my knee replacement. Both replacements were successful. Dr Reardon is an excellent and caring surgeon. Under his care my recovery from both surgeries was faster than I anticipated. He explained the procedures to me beforehand in a manner that I could understand. His excellent skill in making extremely neat sutures of the surgical incisions resulted in my wounds healing beautifully with minimal scarring. We are extremely fortunate that in a small town like ours we have an orthopaedic surgeon with such a high standard of professionalism, excellent skills, and patient care. On 26 July 2018 I had an total shoulder replacement done by Dr Tim Reardon in Knysna. Its now fourteen months later and I'm in full use of my shoulder and is able to use my arm in ways I forgot is possible. Thank you Dr Tim for a procedure well done. Your friendly and kind, but still professional interaction with us as a family made us comfortable and safe and ready for the procedure. I found Dr Tim Reardon extremely professional, with the best bedside manners I came across. Caring as well as the follow up from his side was remarkable. I also can describe him to be a conservative Surgeon, and will do everything to prevent unnecessary surgeries. He did a major shoulder operation on me when needed with the outcome as a great success. I have 100% of movement back.....the operated shoulder is actually better than the other shoulder. I will always recommend him to any patient.

I had lower back surgery in 2012 age 32, enabling me to continue my work as a Pilates instructor. Tim's approach took my mobility needs into account, considering all aspects of not only my back issues, but also what I need to do in my day to day life. He is conservative when it comes to invasive surgery, as my partner had a fracture in his hand recently. Tim advised against surgery, even when other surgeons were ready to book him in. Tim again looked at recovery and mobility needs my partner plays piano. Thank you Tim

We have had two injury's on duty with our personal more than a year ago and we are still waiting for the doctor to finalize paperwork. The one employee is still waiting for an authorization letter so that they can operate. This is the worst service i have ever seen in my life.

I have always found Dr Reardon to be both extremely professional and caring. My recent neck operation was well explained and brilliantly done.
