Kogel Bay Resort is a nice place for camping. The facilities, Ablution Blocks not up to Standard. They do cleaning it, but only once a day. They need to do regular checks on the toilets for neatness. Nevertheless it is a good place to camp. You always see the beauty of mother nature. The Baboons is always a big issue and gets very dangerous at times especially when they hungry. Many pupils lost valuable item and even their car keys when they grab their bags. Without the Baboons this place will be heaven on earth.
Great place for camping with kids, but in need of some maintenance upgrades. Cell phone reception is bad often non-existent and the baboons visits some times. Other than that, it has beautiful beach views with cool waters. It gets quite windy at night, so solid setting up is a must. Will go back again.Service: 3/5
We were camping on the beach front which was beautiful. To hear the waves in the morning was amazing. The Baboons never disturbed us, I saw them once only. We had terrible wind for three days, some peeps packed up and left because their tents and gazebos broke due to the wind. The toilets and showers need an upgrade, there are no doors on a few of them. As soon as cleaning staff clean the toilets and showers, it gets disgustingly dirty again due to some peeps camping there. Cleaning staff should clean more than once and keep it clean the whole day. But...I would say we had an awesome time
The toilet was dirty all the time no hot water. The bins was remove and not replace fr 3days and the rubbis was laying around not a nice experienceService: 1/5
Kogel Bay Resort, situated between Gordon's Bay and Rooi Els, is a coastal resorts offering affordable accommodation. These have non-electrified sites. , camping ,braaing , can swim with your family it's next to the beach, caution strong Rip currentsService: 3/5
The location is right on the beach front so you get to wake up to the sound of birds and the waves, watching the sunset is so beautiful. It's really a great spot if you enjoy camping and allowing you're loved once to be free and experience the beauty around the area. There is shared bathrooms with showers and you can book a plot for a weekend and it won't even cost you more than R600 for the entire weekend for you and your family to be together on the plot and enjoy an evening by the fire and enjoy a braai
Earthdance was organised here on 16-18 September and it was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful!! It is located right in between 2 mountains so you don't feel a lot of wind therefore the temperatures weren't too major. It rained a bit so some of the soil turned into mud, but it didn't stop the good vibes from flowing. In the distance I could see other sorts of accommodation that wasn't part of earthdance but it was far enough to not be disturbed by the music I think as when I was in my tent I could barely here the music anymore so I think it was quite respectful of the management team to organise earthdance away from travellers who aren't part of the festival.
We love Kogel Bay Resort, during weekdays in January/February. At weekends it's quite noisy and crowded. Take some powder against the ants :-Service: 1/5
Rundown vandaliised facilities. Loud music allowed. Otherwise beautiful nature. Beware of baboons and sharks. Strong currents.Location: 3/5
